Personal experience
In 1983, Fu Jingsheng became a cinematographer for the first time in director Liu Qing's film pursuit.
In 1986, he worked as a photographer in Xie Fei's film "Xiao Xiao Xiang girl". In terms of photographic processing, he attached great importance to the use of light, especially the natural effect of the film. He tried to use less lights to create a natural atmosphere, and focused on the ever-changing and endless natural light. He called this method of using light "painting". Xiaoxiao, the daughter of Hunan Province, shows the natural features and folk customs of rural areas in Western Hunan Province, leaving a deep impression on the audience.
In the same year, Fu Jingsheng, as a director and photographer, made the original documentary Bai Ku Yao. He was praised by Evans, the documentary master who was the cultural advisor of the people's Republic of China at that time, and delivered the film to Paris to participate in the 9th Paris international real film festival in 1987. As soon as Bai Ku Yao was on display at the festival, it got attention and won the best short film award at the festival. Therefore, Fu Jingsheng went to Paris to become Evans' special assistant.
In 1995, he worked as a photographer in the film "Black Steed" directed by Xie Fei. In the film, through the use of the lens and the ingenious treatment of the light, he reproduced the vast and magnificent scenery of the Mongolian prairie, which increased the artistic appeal. Fu Jingsheng thinks that fine arts and photography are inseparable. Good photographers always look for feelings from the works of famous painters, so as to create higher aesthetic value of films. In his photography, he always pursues the "purification" of the picture, that is, the picture should not have any impurities, but should be pure, quiet and concise.
In 1999, Fu Jingsheng once again directed and shot the feature film "say goodbye". In addition to keeping his creative style as close to nature as possible, he never sets a frame for the actors in their performances. Instead, he allows the actors to have emotional collisions at any time during the shooting to get a fresh performance state. This kind of performance style, which he called "original ecology", made the film win the best supporting actress award of "Golden Rooster Award" in 2000, the best actor and supporting actress nomination of "popular film Hundred Flowers Award" in 2000, and the special achievement award of "Los Angeles International Film Festival" in 2001.
Today, Fu Jingsheng is still active in the film and television industry, creating art with a camera.
