He made every effort to perform his career with the essence of orthodox school. In 1992, at the invitation of the Council for cultural development of the Executive Yuan and the Council for overseas Chinese Affairs, Wei Haimin led a delegation to Taipei, Houston, San Francisco, Los Angeles and other places of the Chinese cultural center in New York to hold ten performances, which were warmly welcomed and praised. In July 1993, the contemporary legend theatre launched a new play "Lou Lan Nu", which was adapted from the Greek tragedy "mitya". Wei Haimin played the main role and ran through the whole theatre. The voice was high and low, and the body could be retracted and released. Undoubtedly, it bloomed a kind of continuous performance charm released from the traditional accumulated energy. In October 1993, he premiered in Beijing, the birthplace of Peking Opera. He performed "Mu Guiying in command", "farewell to my concubine" and "three auditions" and received unanimous praise from both inside and outside Beijing. It not only showed the achievements of learning since the apprenticeship, but also won the highest honor "plum blossom Award" for Peking Opera actors in August 1996. Wei Haimin's great transformation and challenge from the traditional role in Tsing Yi to the semi traditional role in the improved Peking Opera depend on her profound traditional Peking Opera skills, which can help her create a more exquisite and mature way of performance in the performance art which combines traditional and modern language, and also extend her drama stage to an infinite width!
In 1995, the Wei Haimin Peking opera culture and education foundation was officially established. It is dedicated to the promotion and publicity of Peking opera art. Following master Mei Lanfang's artistic steps, it is a drama worker with both morality and art. Art life
When he was ten years old, he signed up to join "xiaohaiguang drama school" in order to escape the boring life of school. At the age of 14, he began to play the leading role. Wei Haimin has been singing for 36 years.
Muddled to wake up
Wei Haimin, who is intelligent and hardworking, is deeply loved by her teachers, but she herself says: the teachers all say that she is a piece of material for learning drama, but she is still ignorant until she is 21 or 2 years old. She doesn't know what singing well means. It was not until 1982 that Wei Haimin saw Mr. Mei Baojiu's performance in Hong Kong that he was astonished. "In our concept, Peking Opera is a very serious thing. It must be performed with great care. We never thought that it could live so naturally." From then on, Wei Haimin began to reexamine and study his Peking opera performance, and collected a lot of information. In 1986, she joined the contemporary legend theatre, starring in the Peking Opera repertoire adapted from Shakespeare's plays such as desire city, which caused a sensation in the world. In 1991, Wei Haimin, who has become famous, became the first Mei school disciple in Taiwan. Wei Haimin said that by following Mr. Mei to perform on the same stage, she has learned a lot and her style has gradually matured.
Beijing Opera should be an elite classical art
Wei Haimin said that Peking Opera is the most essential part of Chinese culture. It contains Chinese people's thoughts and appreciation of color, tune and poetry. Therefore, it should be put in a higher and more elegant position. It is more appropriate to call it "classical art" than "traditional art". Wei Haimin believes that to raise the status of Peking Opera, efforts should be made to cultivate elite talents of Peking Opera, and the pyramid shape is the most ideal composition of talents of Peking Opera. Wei Haimin is worried about the large number of students enrolled in some opera schools. She said that in the case of limited market demand, elaborately cultivating a few famous actors can make the classical art of Beijing Opera shine more brilliantly than creating a large number of mediocre actors. "There are a lot of fans in the mainland now, and the singing style they imitate is so authentic that they almost confuse the fake with the real. The audience has reached such a level, which is a great pressure on the actors. In terms of actors, the development of Beijing Opera needs elitism, and the rival plays among experts can bring out new inspiration. "
The development of the times calls for new forms of drama
Wei Haimin believes that the emergence and development of the faction laid the foundation for the development of Peking Opera and is a product of history. On the other hand, she also saw that this complex division of factions could not be explained in concise language, and became an obstacle to its promotion and development in modern society. She pointed out that opera itself is no longer a popular art form in modern society, and the market is very small. Drama should keep pace with the times. If the burden is too heavy, it will be eliminated gradually. Over the years, Wei Haimin has regarded Beijing opera development as his mission and tried hard to get out of the new world of Peking Opera in the challenge of multiple art forms. She hopes that in the future, she can balance the relationship between many kinds of drama, break through the traditional system on the basis of classical drama, and develop a drama that can go to the world and truly represent Chinese culture with the richest connotation. Wei Haimin's new "thinking Peking Opera" Tiandi yixiucai has achieved great success in the mainland tour, which is her latest attempt to play a semi traditional role in the improvement of Peking Opera. Her own new play, which is based on this idea, is expected to come out in two years. In 1995, she formally established the Wei Haimin Peking opera culture and education foundation, which is dedicated to the promotion and promotion of Peking Opera. During the three terms of office of the president of Taiwan's "National Drama Association", he also hosted several cross-strait joint performances, sparing no effort to promote cross-strait exchanges.
