In the autumn of 1946, Guo Lanying left the Opera Troupe in Zhangjiakou, joined the art troupe of North China United University, and began to engage in the new opera business.
In 1947, Guo Lanying entered the drama department of North China United University. While studying, she took part in the performances of Yang opera, such as Aunt Wang's fair, husband and wife's literacy, and brother and sister's reclaiming wasteland.
In November 1947, Guo Lanying transferred to the cultural and industrial troupe of North China United University to perform song and dance drama in Shijiazhuang.
