Early experience
Lin Zhengying was born in Hong Kong on December 27, 1952. When he was a child, his family was poor, and his parents made a living by catering for others. He had six brothers and sisters, and Lin Zhengying ranked third. Like his brothers and sisters, Lin Zhengying once studied in Lutheran primary school for two years, but then dropped out of school. Later, in 1963, Lin Zhengying joined the spring and autumn drama academy of Hong Kong (Beijing Opera Troupe), and joined the fan family class by learning from the famous Peking Opera master fan Juhua, and joined Qian Yuesheng and Dong Wei Meng Hai, Zhong FA, Hui Tianci, Chen long, Zunlong and Luo Jiaying are brothers of the same school. Lin Zhengying began to perform after half a year of training. His first play is white sand beach, but his Peking opera career lasted only five years. After being introduced by a friend, he changed into the film industry.
Acting experience
In 1969, at the age of 17, Lin Zhengying entered the film industry and worked for Shaw film company, an old film and television company in Hong Kong. As a martial arts teacher of dragon and tiger, he was petite and had been a stand in for many young actors (such as Zheng Peipei).
In 1971, Lin Zhengying was invited by Jiahe film company, which was established only for more than one year, to do the work of martial arts guidance. In the first kung fu movie "Tangshan big brother" starring Bruce Lee's return to Hong Kong, he cooperated with Han Yingjie and Chen Huiyi to serve as martial arts director; and Lin Zhengying was personally invited by Bruce Lee to serve as the vice martial arts director of the film, and played a-ying in the film. It is during the cooperation period that Lin Zhengying and Chen Huiyi can well complete the actions required by Bruce Lee and cooperate with each other. Chen is good at shooting (the one who hits people in kung fu movies) and Lin is good at shooting (the one who is hit in kung fu movies), becoming Bruce Lee's right arm.
In 1972, he continued to work with Lin Zhengying as the martial arts director in the action film "JingWuMen" written, directed and performed by Bruce Lee.
In 1973, during the shooting of Bruce Lee's original Hong Kong film "the battle of the dragon and the tiger", Bruce Lee specially asked Zou wenhuai, the boss of Jiahe, to send Lin Zhengying back to Hong Kong as a martial arts instructor. Bruce Lee would rather not shoot without Lin Zhengying. In the next few years, Lin Zhengying has appeared as a martial arts director in films, such as "game of death" and "Lin Shirong".
In the late 1970s, due to the death of Bruce Lee, Hong Jinbao grew rapidly and set up a Hong family class, in which Lin Zhengying became a member. After that, Lin Zhengying also became one of the backbone of the Hong family class. Lin Zhengying participated in the films of the Hong family class.
In 1980, Lin Zhengying made a cameo role as a captor in the movie ghost beat ghost, which marked the beginning of Hong Kong's psychedelic zombie film.
In 1982, Lin Zhengying played the leading role in the action movie "black sheep" and played the famous Yongchun teacher Liang Erdi, showing his Beijing Opera skills and martial arts experience accumulated in his film career. At the same time, Lin Zhengying worked behind the scenes with Hong Jinbao, Yuan Biao and Chen Huiyi to defeat Liu Jiaban, yuan Jiaban and Chengjia class and win the best action direction award of the second Hong Kong Film Awards. In 1983, Lin Zhengying played the role of housekeeper in the comedy five lucky stars, and also acted as an action director. She won the best action director of the Third Hong Kong Film Awards.
In 1984, Lin Zhengying took part in the phantom horror film "people frighten ghosts", in which she played the careful Master Sheng Shu. In the same year, Lin Zhengying played a police sergeant in the movie "Shenyong shuangxiangpao" starring Wu Yaohan, cen Jianxun and ye Dexian.
In 1985, Lin Zhengying, together with Qian Xiaohao and Xu Guanying, starred in the magic kung fu film Mr. zombie directed by Liu Guanwei, in which he played the ninth uncle of Taoist priest Maoshan. It was the Taoist character holding peach sword and wearing Taoist robe in the film that laid the foundation for Lin Zhengying's image in the future. The film was first released in Taipei and caused a sensation. After 28 days of release in Hong Kong, the cumulative box office revenue of the film was more than 20 million Hong Kong dollars (20092129 Hong Kong dollars, see the box office ranking of Hong Kong film market in 1985). The film set off a wave of shooting ghost zombie movies in Hong Kong Film and television circles. Lin Zhengying was also nominated for best supporting actor at the 5th Hong Kong Film Awards. In 1986, Lin Zhengying starred in the ghost zombie film "zombie family", which was released in Hong Kong for 21 days, and won a cumulative box office of more than 17 million Hong Kong dollars (17072137 Hong Kong dollars, see the total box office of Hong Kong film market in 1986 for details). When she entered Japan, she also got a good response, and there was a short-term zombie boom.
In 1987, when she was in the limelight, Lin Zhengying starred in a zombie themed movie "Mr. spirit", which was released in Hong Kong for 21 days and grossed more than 19 million Hong Kong dollars (19460536 Hong Kong dollars, see the total box office of Hong Kong film market in 1987 for details).
In 1988, Lin Zhengying starred in Lin Lingdong's action movie "school storm", playing Haige, a policeman. In the same year, Lin Zhengying was nominated for best supporting actor in the 25th Taiwan Film Golden Horse Award for her role as Peking Opera martial uncle a Hua in the plot film seven little blessings.
In 1989, when Hong Kong's traditional Maoshan zombie film was followed and repeatedly imitated, and gradually lost its audience, Lin Zhengying integrated Western vampires and Zombies into Hong Kong's zombie film, and for the first time independently directed the phantom horror film "Taoist Yimei". In the film, the novel effect of Taoist Maoshan and Christians' chicken and Duck Talk, and Maoshan's fighting with Western zombies again won good reputation. At the beginning of 1990, Lin Zhengying played Qu Yang in the movie "Xiao Ao Jiang Lake" starring Xu Guanjie and Zhang Min, and played Liu Zhengfeng with Wu Ma in the piano and Flute Ensemble of "a smile from the sea" on the ship, which was impressive. At the end of the year, Hong Kong's zombie movies set off a new upsurge of creation. Lin Zhengying made a movie about Maoshan's zombie movie and the police's partner in solving the case, exorcism police. In 1991, Lin Zhengying made the funny movie "African monk", which contains many wonderful creative works, such as Maoshan magic, exotic customs, African aborigines, and the good zombie ancestors fighting against African giants. In 1992, Lin Zhengying made eight Psychic Horror films a year. Among them, Lin Zhengying once again partnered with Qian Xiaohao and Xu Guanying to continue the ghost zombie film "Mr. new zombie", which continued to write the love between master and apprentice, had the highest box office, but less than HK $10 million (HK $6365497, see the total box office of Hong Kong Film market in 1992). In 1993, Lin Zhengying took part in the film "the king of yin and Yang in painting skin" starring Zheng Shaoqiu and Wang Zuxian, and played a Taoist in purple.
In 1994, Lin Zhengying filmed the movie "the Green Hornet" with the same name as the Hollywood TV series for the second time as a director, thus paying homage to Bruce Lee.
In 1995, Lin Zhengying was offered a high salary of HK $1 million by Hong Kong Asia TV (ATV and ATV) to play in the TV series zombie Taoist priest, which started her TV career. This TV series not only won high ratings for ATV, but also was regarded as the rebirth of Lin Zhengying's film career.
In 1996, Lin Zhengying readily accepted the invitation of Hong Kong Asia TV to shoot "zombie Taoist priest II". In the same year, he played Jianbo in the TV series waiting for you to come back.
In 1997, he planned to shoot "zombie Taoist priest III" for ATV, but he was told that he had suffered from liver cancer at that time, so the shooting was terminated and became his last wish (due to overwork and Lin Zhengying's love of drinking, liver cancer was caused by two factors). In the same year, Lin Zhengying insisted on acting when she was ill. In the play, she filmed together with Xu Jinjiang and Liu Songren "a flower monk" (New Water Margin), which was also the last work Lin Zhengying filmed in the world. In the play, Lin Zhengying played Marshal Bai Yingqi.
Personal life
Family emotion
In 1983, Lin Zhengying married his ex-wife Zheng Bingbing and had a son, Lam kayiu, and a daughter, Lam sik ngaa. But after five years of divorce, the custody of the children belongs to Lin Zhengying.
In 1995, Lin Zhengying met yuan qiongdan when shooting zombie Taoist priest. In 1996, Lin Zhengying and Yuan qiongdan wrote a love story. Yuan qiongdan moved from Happy Valley to Saigon to live with Lin Zhengying. Later, Lin Zhengying got liver cancer and broke up with yuan qiongdan who didn't know about it.
He died of illness
On November 8, 1997, due to advanced liver cancer, Lin Zhengying died at St. Teresa hospital in Kowloon, Hong Kong. He was 45 years old.
