Character evaluation
Xiang Kun is a warm and easy-going person. He has the spirit of dedication, and his performance is exquisite and unforgettable. In his performance, Xiang Kun did not simply pursue resemblance, but focused on revealing the essence of the characters and their ugly souls (Lu Qi, CPC Secretary Jiao Hongfen, Sina comprehensive review).
Xiang Kun has a masculine face and strong temperament. His face and body in the narrative with unique rhetoric to contrast the hero image and ideal masculinity. Although Xiang Kun of the hardliners also met some standards of dominant masculinity, he was not incorporated by dominant masculinity, but was marginalized by villain performance. In the film Shangrao concentration camp, Xiang Kun vividly presents the image of a fierce and cruel KMT Officer (review of Journal of Beijing Film Academy).
Although Xiang Kun has played a villain many times, he is a good man in his life. Xiang Kun created different characters in his life. In the movies trill of life and hidden net, although the veteran cadre he plays is not much, it shows the character as soon as he raises his hand and raises his foot. The refined performance made the audience realize the meaning of the old saying that there are no small roles, only small actors. His image is majestic, and he has inherent advantages in shaping the image of soldiers and historical figures. In the movie general sabre, Xiang Kun makes the characters' dignity, wisdom and resolute military style unforgettable. In the movie series "burning Yuanmingyuan" and "listening to the government behind the curtain", Xiang Kun uses his superb acting skills to interpret the complex inner activities of this powerful official of the Qing Dynasty, who has lost his power to the government and the opposition (Dongguan daily).
