Zhao Xiaoming was born in Muping District, Yantai City, Shandong Province on April 24, 1958.
He joined the army in May 1973 and was admitted to the student team of the cast company of Bayi film studio.
In 1976, Zhao Xiaoming entered the performance Department of Beijing Film Academy for further study. He systematically studied the basic theory of film and received comprehensive and strict training in the performance major.
During this period, he participated in the internship performance of the drama the last act.
He graduated in July 1979 and returned to the actor troupe of Bayi studio. He has been a film and television actor and dubbing actor until now (March 6, 2014).
Since the film, Zhao Xiaoming has participated in many film and television performances and dubbing of hundreds of translated films.

On October 16, 2019, the Anti Japanese war drama "one horse, three commanders" co starred with Zhang Mingjian, Li Junfeng and Wu Qijiang will be premiered.
