Cheng Yuelei
Cheng Yuelei, born in Beijing on October 28, 1987, is a Chinese football player and goalkeeper. He has worked in Guancheng of Sichuan, Guoan of Beijing and hongzuan of Shenzhen, and now works in Fuli Football Club of Guangzhou. He has been selected into China youth team, National Olympic team and national football team.
In January 2012, he transferred from Shenzhen Red Diamond football club to Guangzhou Fuli football club, signed a contract for five years, with a transfer fee of 5 million yuan.
Sports career
In 2001, Cheng Yuelei left Beijing Xicheng District Sports School to join Sichuan Quanxing fourth line team.
In 2005, Cheng Yuelei was promoted to the first team of Sichuan Guancheng and became the No.4 goalkeeper. In the same year, he was selected to participate in the National Games of Sichuan Province. The 17-year-old Cheng Yuelei served as the main goalkeeper of the Sichuan team. His performance in the National Games made him selected into the national youth team by the coach of the national youth team, Claude Chen. That was the first time he was selected into the national brand team.
After the dissolution of Sichuan Guancheng, Cheng Yuelei was finally transferred to Dalian Shide due to the close relationship between Sichuan Guancheng and Dalian Shide. In 2007, Cheng Yuelei transferred to Beijing Guoan for 800000 yuan.
In 2009, when Beijing Guoan was fighting on both sides, they wanted to buy a player with experience of Chinese Super League to replace Yang Zhi. At that time, Li Lixin, the goalie coach of Guoan, thought of Zhang Lei of Shenzhen team. He exchanged Cheng Yuelei and 400000 yuan with Shenzhen team to replace Zhang Lei, and soon got the position of main goalie in Shenzhen team. At the end of the season, Cheng Yuelei also helped Shenzu to maintain an unbeaten record in 10 rounds, and finally the team was relegated successfully. On March 25, 2011, in the warm-up match between China and New Zealand in Wuhan, Cheng Yuelei replaced Zeng Cheng, who was injured, to complete his first international A-level match in the national team.
In the second half of the 2011 Super League, Cheng Yuelei lost his position as the main goalkeeper because of a conflict with Shenzhen coach trussier.
In January 2012, Cheng Yuelei transferred from Shenzhen Red Diamond to Guangzhou Fuli with RMB 5 million and signed a five-year contract.
Personal life
Cheng Yuelei's wife is a female police officer in Shenzhen. They were introduced by their teammates. The two married at the end of 2010 and settled down in Shenzhen, where they received a son in the spring of 2012. When he had to leave Shenzhen at the beginning of the year, in order to take care of his wife who was about to give birth, Cheng Yuelei chose Guangzhou Fuli, which was not the best, but was closest to home.
