Xu Wei (1921-1980), formerly known as Xu Chongxiao, was born in Zhucheng county (now the city). He once served as political commissar of the 26th army and deputy political commissar of Jinan Military Region.
Life of the characters
In 1936, he began to participate in the Anti Japanese activities led by the party when he was in primary school.
After the July 7th incident in 1937, he resolutely dropped out of school and joined the Anti Japanese guerrillas led by the party. Later, according to the instructions of the Yangtze River Bureau of the Communist Party of China, he went to the 667 regiment of the 112th division of the 57th army of the Northeast Army to do military work. In 1938, he joined the Communist Party of China and served as the Secretary of the underground branch of the party. He took part in the battle of shenggongshan in support of the Taierzhuang war and the battle of defending Lianyungang, supporting the battle of Wuhan, Suqian, guirenji and luoweizi.
In 1940, he left the Northeast Army to study in Shandong Branch of the Communist Party of China. In November of the same year, some officers and men of the 667 regiment of the Northeast Army revolted and set up the independent brigade of the 57th army. Shandong Branch sent him to work in the Department. He successively served as the company instructor, the organization section chief and the propaganda section chief of the Political Department of the brigade. He took part in the battles of tuanlin, Yimeng Mountain anti mopping up and hailing anti cannibalism.
In 1944, he was transferred to the fourth regiment of Shandong Binhai military region of the Eighth Route Army. He successively served as company instructor, battalion Deputy instructor and instructor. He took part in the battles of Juxian, tuowang, Tancheng, Matou and Linyi.
During the period of the liberation war, he successively served as the instructor of the first vertical division and the second division of the Northeast Democratic Alliance Army, the chief of the division's direct engineering section, the director of the Political Department of the regiment, and the political commissar of the 337 regiment of the fourth field army. He took part in the three battles of Jiangnan, the four battles of Siping, Liaoshen, Pingjin, Dujiang, Yisha, Hengbao and Guangxi. During the period of resisting U.S. aggression and aiding Korea, he successively served as political commissar of the 337 regiment of the volunteer army, deputy director of the Political Department of the 114th division, and participated in one to four campaigns and Tieyuan defense. Especially in the second campaign, he led the whole regiment to fight bloody battles in longyuanli, blocked the last gate of the US Army's South escape and North aid, and made special contributions to winning the honor of "long live army" for the 38th army. After returning to China, he successively held the posts of director, deputy political commissar and political commissar of the Political Department of the 1113 division, deputy director and deputy political commissar of the Political Department of the 38th army, first Secretary of Baoding prefectural committee, political commissar of the military and political Cadre School of Beijing Military Region, political commissar of the 26th army of the army, and deputy political commissar of Jinan Military Region (he died suddenly after being appointed to this post).
