Wu Siyuan

On April 20, 1977, the kung fu film "fighting the Golden Fox" was released. In 1998, he was awarded the bronze Bauhinia Star by the Hong Kong SAR government. In 2001, he was appointed justice of the peace by the Hong Kong SAR government.

In 2014, the animated film "dinosaur racing car" was released, and in the same year, it won the outstanding achievement award of Chinese film in the 12th China Changchun Film Festival.

Early experience

Wu Siyuan, a native of Xiangshan (now Shanchang village, Zhuhai, Guangdong Province), was born in Shanghai in 1944. He loved reading books and movies since childhood, and read all kinds of famous books at home and abroad. In 1958, 14-year-old Wu Siyuan moved to Hong Kong with his family. After graduating from the new law college of Hong Kong, Wu Siyuan first went to teach in a middle school in Hong Kong. There were not many classes, but his salary was not too low. But gradually, he began to get involved in the film industry. In 1967, "Shao brothers" held a film editing and directing class, and Wu Siyuan signed up to participate. After learning, he entered the "Shao brothers" on the spot. His loss is not small. His income as a teacher is HK $800, while his income as a teacher is only HK $200. But it was an opportunity to realize his wish. He didn't want to give up and started his film career.

Acting experience

In 1971, Wu Siyuan's first film, crazy killer, was released. In 1972, the director's action movie "dangkoutan" was released, which set a box office record of HK $1.76 million in Hong Kong. On December 6 of the same year, the director's action movie "hungry tiger and wild dragon" was released.

In 1973, Siyuan film company was established. On June 28, 1974, the action film "the godfather of Hong Kong" was released, starring Liang Xiaolong and Kuroda BaoZhao.

On January 23, 1975, the director's horror film "No.13 villain" was released; on August 21, the police and bandit film "clean government storm" was released, which described the social storm caused by the anti-corruption movement in Hong Kong; on December 10, the director's action film "living dragon and tiger little hero" was released, which co starred by Liang Xiaolong, Huang Yuanshen and Hu Jin.

On June 18, 1976, the directed kung fu movie "South fist and North leg" was released, which was co starred by Chen Zhongliang, Wang Dao and Huang Zhengli; on August 14, the directed crime movie "7 million yuan robbery" was released; on October 28, the documentary "Legend of Bruce Lee" was released.

On April 20, 1977, the Kungfu film "fighting the Golden Fox" directed by the director was released; on June 29, the ancient costume martial arts film "Eagle Claw iron cloth shirt" directed and co written by Huang Zhengli and Liu Zhongliang was released.

Many of Tsui Hark's later films were also produced or supervised by Wu Siyuan. For example, "Siyuan" directly produced "New Dragon Gate Inn" (1992), "green snake" (1993), and Wu Siyuan also participated in the production of "Shuangxiong Hui" (1992), "Huang Feihong's two men should be self-improvement" (1992), "Huang Feihong's three lion Kings fight for hegemony" (1993), "Huang Feihong's four kings' wind" (1993), "Huang Feihong's Five Dragon City fighter" (1994), etc .

In the early 1980s, Wu Siyuan produced detective comedies, which specially showed police life. Among them, director Luo Wen, Liao Weixiong and Zheng Zeshi starred in "a can on duty" (1981) and "modern mischief" (1982).

On March 14, 2013, Wu Siyuan was employed as visiting professor of Shanghai Academy of drama and honorary Dean of film and Television Academy.
