Wu Yuxuan
Wu Yuxuan, male, doctor, researcher and doctoral supervisor of East China Normal University.
Personal experience
Education and research experience
he graduated from school of life sciences of Wuhan University in 2006 and graduated from cell and developmental biology of Wuhan University in 2012. Then he joined Shanghai Institute of Biochemistry and cell, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He has been a postdoctoral and associate researcher, studying CRISPR mediated gene repair in mouse embryos and spermatogonial stem cells. It is the first time in the world that CRISPR can be inherited at the individual level of animals Repair and treatment of diseases. In 2015, it was proved that haploid stem cells can be used as the vector of CRISPR library and injected into oocytes to directly and efficiently produce the corresponding gene knockout mice. From 2015 to 2018, while working in Harvard Medical School and Boston Children's Hospital, he developed CRISPR based gene therapy technology in hematopoietic stem cells, which can effectively activate the expression of fetal hemoglobin gene to treat thalassemia and sickle anemia. The article was published in naturemedicine, and the related therapy has entered the clinical experimental stage. Many works have been published in international journals, including naturemedicine (1 article), cellstemcell (2 articles), naturebiotechnology (1 article), naturegenetics (1 article) and cellresearch (2 articles). These works have attracted the attention of international peers, with a total number of citations reaching more than 900 times (from Google scholar data). In 2018, he was selected into the high-level talent introduction project of "Zijiang outstanding young scholars" of East China Normal University as a researcher and doctoral supervisor.
