Personal experience
Quan Renquan, born in Seoul in 1952, is the youngest of the three brothers. His childhood dream is to become a painter. Because I don't like the rigid education system, I dropped out of high school after only one year. He learned to play guitar with his second brother. At the age of 19, Quan Renquan heard Beatles's "Imagine" for the first time. He was so shocked that he decided to become a singer like John Lennon.
In 1972, Quan Renquan began to sing in bars. After his father's death, he went all out to perform in bars, restaurants and nightclubs in South Korea. So far, he has done nearly 3000 performances, a record that almost no one in South Korea can match.
In the early 1980s, the wild chrysanthemum band, with him as the lead singer, was founded. In September 1985, he released the famous "wild chrysanthemum - the first album", which created an incredible sales volume in the Korean record market at that time - 800000 copies. In 1986, "wild chrysanthemum - the second album" was published, which also caused a sensation.
In 2007, he was investigated by South Korean police for suspected use of methamphetamine. South Korea's Jiangyuan local police department, which is responsible for investigating the case, disclosed the results of the investigation on August 30 of that year, saying that Quan Renquan had used methamphetamine for at least one year. However, Quan Renquan himself denied the police charges, saying that he only took the medicine prescribed by the doctor.
