Zhong Shanyin is a well-known singer in Singapore. She has recorded many records and also hosted TV programs such as "little white boat" and "riotous 83". It is known that she is very popular in the entertainment circle. The late Hong Kong veteran actress Zheng Junmian accepted her as her daughter because she appreciated her performance and behavior.

Zhong Shanyin had a splitting headache on her birthday on August 20, 2002. She was rushed to the hospital by her family and fell into a coma. At the time of admission, she was six months pregnant, and doctors performed six brain operations for her. But she never woke up. Two months later, on October 1, doctors performed a caesarean section for her son, who is now 11 years old.
