Wu Ying
Wu Ying, male, born in Shanghai on March 1, 1957, studied piano with his mother at the age of 5. He graduated from the Central Conservatory of music in 1976. In 1979, he won the first prize in the piano competition in northern China; in 1980, he won the first prize in the national piano competition. In 1982, he graduated from Professor Zhu Gongyi's postgraduate class and obtained a master's degree. Then he studied in Austria and studied under piano master Badura Skoda. He graduated from Vienna National Conservatory of music in 1984 and taught in his alma mater after returning home. At the same time by the State Council, the State Education Commission awarded the "outstanding contribution of China's master's degree winner" title. In 1992, he was awarded "Badura Skoda Award" by Goethe foundation of Switzerland. Since 1994, he has been teaching in Shanghai Conservatory of music. In 2004, he was professor and director of Piano Department of Central Conservatory of music.
In 1982, he gave a live concert on BBC Radio in London. In 1985, he gave a solo concert at the aenescu Music Festival and Chopin music festival. At the invitation of the Polish Chopin Association, he took part in the regular concert performance of Chopin Park in Warsaw. In recent years, he has also held concerts in the Czech Republic, Romania, Austria, Spain, Switzerland, Greece and other places in China, and performed in cooperation with famous orchestras in China. His performance is often broadcast in radio and TV programs, and recorded Concerto, ensemble, personal album and other records.
