Chen Shaowei
Chen Shaowei, male, born in 1968, Han nationality, doctor, Professor, University of California, Santa Cruz, part-time professor, South China University of technology.
Personal experience
He graduated from the University of science and technology of China with a bachelor's degree in Chemical Physics in 1991, and then studied at Cornell University in the United States with a master's degree in chemistry in 1993 and a doctor's degree in 1996. From 1996 to 1998, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher in North Carolina University (Church Hill Branch) for two years. Then he worked as an assistant professor in Southern Illinois University and was promoted to life associate professor in 2001. Since 2004, he has been teaching in the Department of chemistry and biochemistry at the University of California, Santa Cruz. He is now an adjunct professor of South China University of technology. in 2005, he was selected as a young observer of the 43rd International Union of pure and Applied Chemistry Conference, and was awarded Tajima prize by the international electrochemical Association in the same year.
Main research
Research direction: nanomaterials, electronic devices, electrocatalysis, fuel cells. My research projects mainly focus on nanofunctional materials and electron transport chemistry. The existing topics include (1) Janus nanoparticles, (2) single electron transport of nanoparticles and their solid integration, (3) charge transport kinetics of nanoparticles by interfacial bonding And (4) electrocatalysis and fuel cell electrochemistry.

He was awarded careeraward of National Science Foundation and ottrell Scholar Award of Research Corporation for science advance in 2001, overseas Distinguished Youth Fund of China Natural Science Foundation in 2002 and research fund of Wang Kuancheng foundation in 2003.
