Li Huanzhi
Li Huanzhi (January 12, 1919 - March 19, 2000), born in Hong Kong, is a Chinese composer, conductor and music theorist. He was born in Jinjiang, Fujian Province (now Jinjiang, Quanzhou). He graduated from Lu Xun art college.
He came to Yan'an in August 1938, joined the Communist Party of China in November, and studied composition and directing under Xian Xinghai in Lu Xun Art Institute. After graduation, he will stay as a teacher. After the victory of the Anti Japanese War, he was the director of the Music Department of the school of literature and art of North China United University. After the founding of new China, he successively served as head of the music troupe of the Central Conservatory of music, art director of the central song and dance troupe, and head of the Central National Orchestra. "Spring Festival Suite" has become a must play in China's Spring Festival Gala; "good socialism" highly praises the prosperity of the people's Republic of China under the leadership of Chairman Mao of the Communist Party, which has set off the climax of socialist construction, and sings the strong determination of the people of the whole country to take the socialist road. Character experience
Li Huanzhi spent his childhood in Xiamen, where he came into contact with Guangdong and Fujian folk music as a child. He also practiced chanting and organ playing in the Christian church choir. In his early years, he studied in Xiamen Shuangshi middle school and joined the school's chorus and brass band, which made him have a strong interest in music. In 1934, he studied in Quanzhou Peiyuan middle school. In 1935, 16-year-old Li Huanzhi composed music for Guo Moruo's poem "Elegy of shepherd", thus embarking on the road of music.
In the spring of 1936, he entered Shanghai National Conservatory of music and studied harmony under Xiao Youmei. In August 1938, he arrived in Yan'an and studied in the Music Department of Lu Xun art college. In November of the same year, he joined the Communist Party of China. After graduation, he continued to follow Xian Xinghai in senior class to learn composition and command, and stayed in school to teach after graduation.
In 1937, after the outbreak of the Anti Japanese War, he joined the Anti Japanese Youth Association, a peripheral organization of the Communist Party, in Hong Kong. He devoted himself to Anti Japanese literature and art activities and co wrote Anti Japanese songs with poets such as PU Feng, such as "Xiamen self singing" and "defending the motherland". After the victory of the Anti Japanese War, he left Yan'an for Zhangjiakou and became the director of the Music Department of the school of literature and art of North China United University.
In 1949, after the founding of new China, he served as the head of the music work group of the Central Conservatory of music and the director of the central song and dance art group.
Since 1954, he has served successively as executive director, Secretariat secretary and vice chairman of China Musicians Association, director of music creation Committee of China Musicians Association, editor in chief of music creation, etc. In 1985, he was elected president of China Musicians Association.
From 1940s to 1950s, he created more than 300 vocal music works. Among them, the prominent ones are Ode to youth, March of democratic construction, good socialism, etc. He also composed music for the films "storm", "on the road of the long march" and "Lu Xun's life", as well as for the large-scale group calisthenics of the 2nd and 4th National Games. He wrote the theme song chorus "Ode to the new Long March" and "Ode to the red flag". In order to perform Xian Xinghai's Chorus "the Yellow River", he arranged the score for many times, and arranged chorus, piano accompaniment and orchestral score for "the National Anthem". Xiamen lyricist Zhu Jiaqi first wrote a set of lyrics (a total of 9 songs) of vocal suite. Li Huanzhi and his wife Li Qun were invited to compose music for the theme song "song of egret goddess" and children's song "happy little egret", respectively, and the two old people readily agreed.
