Xu Weiling
Xu Weiling, violinist, performer and educator. Born in Shanghai, China, enlightened by his father Xu Qipeng, he was admitted to the Central Conservatory of music and studied under Lin Yaoji. In 1979, he was selected to perform in the Oscar winning documentary from Mao Zedong to Mozart. In 1980, Xu Weiling went to the United States for further study. He received his bachelor's and master's degrees in music from Juilliard and Manhattan Conservatory of music, and was personally passed down by Deere and Bronstein. He also won the mannerger Violin Competition Award, Waldo Mayo Award for artistic genius and International Artist Award. The first Chinese mainland musician to hold a concert at the Carnegie concert hall and the Avery Fischer Concert Hall of Lincoln Center. He was the first deputy head of the Hong Kong Orchestra. In 2000, he was invited to serve as violin professor of the Central Conservatory of music and judge of major international competitions.
Character experience
One of the most influential violinists and educators in contemporary China. Born in Shanghai on January 1, 1960, he received strict music education and training under the guidance of his father Xu Qipeng. After resigning as the chief and first deputy head of the Hong Kong Orchestra for nearly 10 years, he was invited to return to his alma mater, the Central Conservatory of music, as a violin professor in 2000.
In 1980, Xu Weiling went to the United States to study in the famous Julia and Manhattan Conservatory of music, and obtained his bachelor's and master's degrees in music. She has successively studied with the famous music educator Dorothy Deere and Rafael Brownstein. After winning the first prize in the mannerger violin competition, Xu Weiling has won many other awards for his outstanding skills, including the Waldo Mayo Award for artistic talent and the International Artist Award.

On January 27, 2005, Xu Weiling played Beethoven's Violin Concerto in Shanghai Oriental Art Center in cooperation with world famous composer and conductor Christopher pandeletsky, and achieved great success. In October 2007, at the world women's economic forum held in duville, Normandy, France, attended by politicians from all over the world, Xu Weiling, as a special guest, opened the forum with her performance. She was the only musician who won this award at the annual forum. On October 11, 2008, Xu Weiling performed as a solo at the "concert in memory of Bernstein" of the 11th Beijing International Music Festival. Her excellent interpretation of Bernstein's "Serenade" won high praise from audiences and critics including Jamie Bernstein.
From 1993 to 2000, Xu Weiling was invited to be the chief deputy head and the first chief of the Hong Kong Orchestra. In November 2000, he was invited back to China and employed as a violin professor of the Central Conservatory of music. At the same time, it frequently appears in major international competitions as a judge.
In August 2005, Xu Weiling was invited to serve as the judge of the International Violin Competition in Sion, Switzerland. In June 2007, she was invited to judge the International Violin Competition in Monte Carlo, Monaco.
In May 2009, she was invited to be the judge of the Queen Elizabeth violin Grand Prix (former Isay International Violin Competition), one of the top international music competitions held once every four years in Brussels, Belgium.
