Singing characteristics
Yang Feifei has a broad and resonant voice. When she was young, she liked to imitate the singing of Beijing Opera dahualian. She was called "Xiaojin Shaoshan" by her peers, which made her pay attention to the resonance of her voice. In her long-term artistic practice, on the basis of inheriting the tradition of Shanghai Opera, she absorbed the elements of Yueju Opera, xiju opera, Pingtan opera, Tiao Tiao opera, etc., and created the Yang School characterized by softness. Her singing style is full of elegance, euphemism and tenderness, and pays great attention to the sincerity and delicacy of emotion. She is good at making tune with emotion, and her singing has a wide spread. Among them, the most representative work is "Jin Yuan sighs for herself" in the prostitute's tears, which is called "Yang Baqu" because it has eight kinds of tunes. It has contributed to the development of Shanghai Opera art.
Art life
Civilized drama
Yang Feifei, born in 1923 in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, was originally named Weng, Fengqing and a Qing. My father used to be a clerk in a southern store, but later he lost his job all the year round. The mother was disabled, so she could only make socks for others under the oil lamp, and it was difficult to support their six brothers and sisters. When Yang Feifei was eight or nine years old, he wanted to make a living on his own. She and several girls from her neighbors asked about working as a child laborer in several factories one after another, but they all failed because they were young. Although Yang Feifei has no conditions to study, she has a strong ability to accept and imitate. She can hum a few words whenever she sees a play. Especially the Wuzi crying grave, which she likes to sing most. Yang Feifei has a big voice, singing crisp and bright. When she was 13 years old, she was introduced and formally learned to sing civilized Opera under the guidance of Wu tiehun. on the stage of civilization, Suzhou dialect and Mandarin are spoken. The teacher told her the plot and taught her 12 lines in Mandarin. She didn't have stage fright at all after she came on stage. She didn't say a wrong line. When she said "uncle, you want to save the people", she knelt down with her feet on the ground and held her uncle's feet in her hands. Tears burst out of her eyes. All of a sudden, there was a sigh under the stage. She was so successful when she first came on stage that she was allowed to play all the children in the play. Later, this civilized troupe entered the big world to perform. From the first floor to the fourth floor of the big world, all kinds of plays are performed here. At that time, artists could watch each other. Yang Feifei like a mouse fell into the white rice hoard, a free run to each field. She would hum a few words when she saw Beijing opera, Shaoxing opera and Ningbo tanhuang opera. Unfortunately, civilized opera focuses on speaking, and there are few words to sing in the whole opera, which can't satisfy Yang Feifei's desire to perform.
Ding wan'e
Coincidentally, there was a children's Shenqu class at the bottom of the world. The actors are young boys and girls of the same age as Yang Feifei. This time, she played a supporting role in the civilized play Wang Wen and Diao Liu Shi. She put on her make-up and ran to Shenqu theater to watch the children's class's Sha Zi Bao. This time, she was stunned. She almost missed her performance. She didn't recover until the person who found her put her on the stage of civilized drama. This miss made many people know that Yang Feifei fell in love with Xiaonan class. A man with a heart to help him agreed to introduce her to Ding wan'e, who founded the children's Shenqu class. But according to the rules at that time, she had to pay 100 yuan for her apprenticeship, which baffled her. Where can she get so much money? Fortunately, after learning about the situation, teacher Ding opened the door and avoided paying teachers' money. She only had to hold a ceremony. Yang Feifei was overjoyed and bought incense candles, steamed bread and cakes. He kowtowed to his teacher happily and entered the children's song application class. At that time, Yang Feifei was only 16 years old, and she was given the stage name of Yang Feifei. Youxiao Aiqin went later than Yang Feifei, and she was five years younger than her. These four girls later became famous actors active on the stage of Shanghai Opera. Yang Feifei received strict training in the children's Shenqu class. At ordinary times, teacher Ding sat in the middle, and she and Ding shie stood on both sides. The ruler is on the table. Ding shi'e teaches her to sing "picking pomegranates" one shoulder at a time. Teacher Ding stipulates that she will teach on the same day. If she can't recite and sing well, the ruler is merciless. Fortunately, the little sisters will help her. At night, everyone sleeps in an attic. She learns from Ding shie again and again, and Ding shie never tires of teaching her. In the early morning, Wang Xiuying played the piano and sang for her. Yang Feifei kept in mind the affection of her little sister. Although Yang Feifei was backward in Shanmen, he soon caught up with his younger sisters because he had studied civilized opera for two years and worked hard. At that time, Shen Yuezhen's famous female idol was Yuezhen. Xiao Yuezhen's singing is spicy and crisp, and her voice shakes the whole audience. Once, Yang Feifei watched her play bingniang's miserable history. When bingniang complained, there was a long song. Xiao Yuezhen's voice of starting, sending and throwing came down like the tide of breaking a dike. The volume was wide and the aftereffect was lingering. Yang Feifei was so impressed that she left an indelible impression. From then on, she worked hard to make the whole audience sound like Xiao Yuezhen.
meridian
In the early 1940s, Shenqu entered the peak period of Qipao opera, especially Wenbin troupe, which was established by famous actor Xiao Wenbin. Yang Feifei was introduced in 1942 and joined the Wenbin troupe known as "shuipoliangshan". There are a lot of talented people here. There are Wang Yaqin, Shi Xiaoying, Ling Aizhen and Gu Yuezhen in their young Dan roles. Seeing these big sisters sing well one by one, Yang Feifei is envious of them. She also tries to find opportunities to stand out at any time. After the victory of the Anti Japanese War, Wenbin opera troupe has been difficult to maintain a unique situation. Shao binsun and Shi Xiaoying set up Zhongyi Shanghai Opera Troupe. Ding shie, Xie Hongyuan and Gu Yuezhen set up Shangyi Shanghai Opera Troupe. Yang Feifei and her lover Zhao Chunfang also quit Wenbin Opera Troupe. They picked up the big beam to hang up the number one and set up the banner of Zhengyi Shanghai Opera Troupe. In Zhengyi Shanghai Opera Troupe's first firecracker, the rich, the poor and the humble, she once again became popular on the stage of Shanghai Opera with a "enchanting melody". Her "enchanting melody" breaks through the original plate melody of the tune, creatively creates the effect of high and low pitched, moving and sentimental, which fascinates countless audiences and makes her peers feel better. Yang Feifei's representative plays were mainly performed in the early days of liberation. At that time, the cause of traditional Chinese opera was experiencing a rare period of prosperity and development in history. The Zhengyi Shanghai Opera Troupe she set up has been renamed qinyi Shanghai Opera Troupe, and it is prosperous. They carried forward the Shanghai Opera's characteristics of being close to real life, actively introduced from the old liberated areas such progressive dramas as Fang Zhenzhu, Xiao erhei's marriage, Luo hanqian, and little son-in-law, and successively launched home, Camellia girl, and mother for slaves, which were adapted from famous Chinese and foreign novels, bringing the overall artistic level of the troupe to a new level. In 1956, Beijing held the first symposium on opera music, and Yang Feifei was honored to be the only representative of Shanghai Opera circles. When she came back from Beijing, Yang Feifei was even more energetic. She actively edited and performed a series of new modern dramas, such as "two generations", "Dino", "Chen Huacheng", "dragon and Phoenix candle".
artistic characteristics
The artistic characteristics of the Yang school are mainly reflected in the two plays "mother for slaves" and "tears of prostitutes" starred by Yang Feifei. Mother for slaves is adapted from the novel of the same name by Rou Shi, a left-wing writer in the 1930s. Yang Feifei plays chunbaoniang, who has been canonized by her husband for three years and then returns to her husband's home. She stuck to the theme of maternal love in her performance. In the play "Bei Dian leaves home" and her son Chun Bao leaves home, she profoundly reveals the tragic fate of Chinese working women who bear humiliation and cannot control their own fate, and expresses the pure and sweet mother feelings of the characters. In the play on the way home after the lease period, she shows the characters' contradictory mood of not only longing to go home for the new year and reunite with their son Chunbao, who has been away for three years, but also reluctant to stay at the owner's home. It seems that the performance form of this play is quite simple. She is the only one who walks and sings on the stage, but it has a strong artistic charm. Although she is worried about Qiubao, she still comes to her home step by step. The details of a leather tiger in her hand accentuate the tragic color of the character, sublimate the greatest maternal love in human nature, and make the audience cry.
