Life experience
Luo Yusheng (1914-2002), whose stage name is "xiaocaiwu", was born in Jiangnan in 1914. She did not know the exact place of birth. Just six months ago, she was given to Luo Caiwu, a native of Tianjin, as her adopted daughter. This is how the stage name "xiaocaiwu" came into being.
Luo Yusheng has been wandering with her adoptive parents in Shanghai, Nanjing, Wuhan and other places since she was a child. From the age of 4, she began to perform juggling with her adoptive father. It's often when Luo Caiwu is doing magic, he changes Luo Yusheng to let her sing Erhuang to the onlookers. A four or five-year-old child is in need of care and care, but Luo Yusheng is already running for food and clothing. When she has sad things, she can't tell others. When she has happy things, no one is listening, so she has to sing opera to express her happiness, anger, sorrow and happiness. Later, when she recalled her childhood, she always said with infinite emotion, "Hey, I grew up singing."
Luo Yusheng's hard life has laid a solid foundation for her to reach the peak of art. In Shanghai's big world, Nanjing's Confucius Temple, Hankou's big stage, all left her performance footprints.
In 1931, after the death of his adoptive father, Luo Yusheng, 17, officially sang Jingyun Dagu. He changed to Jingyun Dagu at the age of 17. In 1934, he took Han Yonglu as his teacher and studied the Dagu repertoire of Liu (Baoquan) school.
According to her timbre characteristics, Han designed a unique singing style for her, which later won her the title of "king of golden voice". Later, it adopted the advantages of "Shaobai (Fengming) school" and "Bai (Yunpeng) school", forming the style of "Luo school". In the early stage, he was good at singing sad songs. The representative repertoire includes "Jiange Wenling", "Hongmei Pavilion" and so on. In this way, Luo Yusheng, another famous artist after Liu Baoquan, Bai Yunpeng, Zhang Xiaoxuan and Bai Fengming, appeared in the field of Chinese folk art from then on, and later led the way for more than half a century. In the early stage, he was good at singing sad songs. The representative repertoire includes "Jiange Wenling", "Hongmei Pavilion" and so on. Before liberation, records such as Hongmei Pavilion and daxixiang were recorded.
After liberation, he joined the Tianjin quyi troupe in 1951 and changed his real name to Luo Yusheng instead of the stage name. The aria is famous for its passionate and uplifting voice. The new revolutionary theme songs Huang Jiguang and glorious voyage won praise. During the cultural revolution, she did not give up her belief in art, and changed to teaching in 1971. He joined the Communist Party of China in 1979. He was elected as member of the fifth CPPCC National Committee and chairman of China quyi Association.
During the cultural revolution, because she did not give up her pursuit of Quyi career and insisted on practicing, Luo Yusheng, who returned to the stage in her 60s, still maintained her abundant stage vitality. In 1980, after 18 years, Jinmen quhui opened again. This was a grand gathering of famous artists in Tianjin quyi circle. In this performance, she sang Ziqi Tingqin, jiqingwen and other songs Since then, Luo Yusheng has also been seen in all previous Jinmen quhui festivals. In 1982, he participated in the Jingyun drum special performance of Beijing and Tianjin Folk Art Circles in commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the death of Mr. Liu Baoquan, the king of drum. Together with sun Shuyun, Yan Qiuxia and other famous artists, he performed the classic repertoire "Hongmei Pavilion" and "heshibi". In 1984, she took part in the recording of the film "Beijing story" and sang live in the film, which left a deep impression on people (see Figure 1). In the same year, he and his disciples successfully held a "luopai Jingyun drum performance". Since then, luopai's influence has become increasingly grand.
In 1985, Luo Yusheng was invited by the TV series "four generations in the same room" production team and famous composers Lei Zhenbang and Lei Lei's father and daughter to record the opening song "reorganizing rivers and mountains to wait for posterity". Once it was broadcasted, it was a great success. From then on, Luo Yusheng's name resounded throughout China. At this time, Luo Yusheng had passed the age of rarity.
In 1993, Luo Yusheng sang "beating the drum and scolding Cao" at the age of 80 at the 8th Jinmen Music Festival. The difficult beating of the drum was still perfect and became a good story.
After the end of the 1980s, due to his age, Luo Yusheng had few opportunities to appear on the stage, and his singing was mainly short. However, every time he appeared on the stage, the enthusiastic audience would flock to it. It can be seen that Luo Yusheng's three words are of great significance to the audience of Quyi.
On May 5, 2002, the artist died of respiratory failure in Tianjin at the age of 89. She left her relatives in silence, the stage and audience she loved. Luo Yusheng was once a member of the fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth CPPCC National Committee, an honorary member of the China Federation of literary and art circles, chairman and honorary chairman of the China quyi Artists Association, and vice chairman of the Tianjin Federation of literary and art circles. Her excellent art occupies an exclusive place in the cultural history of the Chinese nation and is praised as a "national treasure" by the Chinese people and overseas Chinese. At that time, state leaders Zhu Rongji, Li Ruihuan, Hu Jintao, Wei Jianxing, Li Lanqing, Ding Guangen, Wen Jiabao and other leading comrades respectively expressed their deep sorrow for the death of Luo Yusheng in different ways, and expressed their cordial sympathy to her relatives.
August 31, 2014 is the 100th birthday of Luo Yusheng, the performing artist of Jingyun drum.
artistic characteristics
Her singing of "the bell in the pavilion of Swords", with a low and tactful tone, is like crying and talking, which makes people intoxicated. When she sings "my concubine..." The sincere and deep feelings burst out at once, which made people feel heartbroken.
The strong Lyric color makes "Jiange Wenling" obviously different from other schools, and deserves to be the most famous aria of Luo school. Before Luo Yusheng, the Jingyun drum, especially the repertoire of Liu school, was mainly used to perform stories, while "Jiange Wenling" was mainly used to express feelings, and played up the depression and loneliness of the Imperial Palace in the autumn wind and rain with sad and desolate tunes. Luo Yusheng, based on his repeated taste of lyrics and skillful singing skills, delicately outlined the Tang and Ming emperors' regret, shame, resentment and hatred Weaves the complex mood. After listening to it, you can feel drunk, which can be called a rare fine art.
She has been singing for 50 years since the 1940s and won the gold record award.
Luo Yusheng is also an excellent reformer of Quyi. She studied together with her stringer. On the basis of Shaobai school's beating drum and scolding Cao, she changed the single keystroke drum to double keystroke flowerpot drum, which greatly improved the visibility and later became one of her representative works.
Art heritage
Luo Yusheng devoted himself to the spread of Jingyun drum art. Lu Yiqin (1934 -) and Liu chunai (1949 -) were his two most influential disciples. In his later years, Wang Tiecheng, a famous cinematographer, Li Mengxiong, a Peking Opera actor, Wang Guanli, a Pingxi actor, and Li Hong, a Taiwanese student, were recruited as his disciples in order to spread the extensive and profound quyi art into a wider space.
The independent status of luopai Jingyun Dagu has become an important part of Jingjin Guqu art since it was recognized in the 1980s. Luopai, Liu Pai and Bai Pai have formed a tripartite confrontation. With the unremitting efforts of the disciples of the Luo school, there are many fans, especially young people, who love the Jingyun drum of the Luo school, which has built a bright future for the future of this form of Quyi.
Luopai Jingyun Dagu plays an important role in Tianjin's quyi performance market.
