Early experience
Zhang Liyin was born in Chengdu, Sichuan Province on February 28, 1989. Her parents are violinists of eying orchestra. She has been learning violin and piano since she was a child. Because of her timidity, she is addicted to singing and often sings alone with headphones on. Once, her father secretly heard Zhang Liyin sing behind the door and found that she was really good at singing, so he recommended her to participate in major singing and talent show competitions.
Acting experience
In 2003, drmusic, the second largest record company in South Korea, held a Chinese talent show in Chengdu. Zhang Liyin immediately went to sing CoCo Lee's 365 days of missing you. After that, the company signed a 10-year contract with her and became the younger martial sister of babyvox, a Korean five-a-woman group.
In 2004, Zhang Liyin terminated his contract with drmusic company and joined SM Entertainment Co., Ltd. in Korea. He became a trainee of SM Entertainment Co., Ltd. and began to train. Li Xiuman, chairman of SM company, named Zhang Liyin as a female artist with excellent singing skills and perfect voice.
In 2006, Zhang Liyin and Kim Junxiu, a member of the Korean Singing Group Dongfang Shenqi, jointly covered the song "timeless", and landed in the singing world with 870000 popular downloads of their first single.
