Personal experience
In the 1970s, Taiwan experienced such events as breaking diplomatic relations between China and the United States and withdrawing from the United Nations, which led to the decline of Taiwan's international status. However, young people in Taiwan only know western songs, but they lack interest in their own language. In 1975, Li shuangze called out "sing your own songs", which ignited the trend of young students to create folk songs. Yang zujun, a student sister of Li shuangze's Tamkang University of Arts and science, is naturally in the tide. When she was 18 years old, Yang zujun took the lead in singing her own songs in the following campus folk song movement. In Taiwan under martial law, any reactionary behavior against the party and government system will be monitored and controlled. At that time, Yang zujun, who presided over Taiwan TV's music program "jumping notes", resigned because she was dissatisfied with the requirements of the information bureau for her singing purification songs and interfering in the broadcast of folk songs. She took to the streets and continued to spread the ideas she believed in with songs and actions. This is undoubtedly a challenge for the government. Yang zujun is seen as a problem figure, blocking her influence in the public media. In 1978, the album "Yang zujun", released by Xinge records, was recycled and banned two months later. The reason is that its songs "Young China" and "beautiful island" have the consciousness of unification and independence, so they failed to pass the song censorship system. While the road of folk singers has been gradually narrowed down, Yang zujun shouts to the society in another way. she joined the non Party movement, married Lin Zhengjie (the latter two married and divorced in 1990) and published advance weekly, criticizing and reflecting on the unreasonable and unfair things in society. Meili Island magazine was founded with the title of Meili Island written by Li shuangze and sung by Yang zujun. On September 28, 1986, the DPP founded the party. As a founding member and executive member of the first to second Central Committee, Yang zujun actively participated in politics, participated in the election of legislators, and questioned and improved women's rights, judicial reform, and all systems that oppressed civil rights. In other aspects, Yang zujun is not biased. She was admitted to the Journalism Research Institute of the University of culture, and went to the Communication Research Institute of the University of Massachusetts to get a Ph.D. degree. She continued to voice for the society in the way of teaching, mass communication and social movement. For example, the concerts of "supporting yang rumen and Taiwan farmers / Agricultural Movement" in 2004 and "the eternal Weiyang song of folk song 30" in 2005 show that Yang zujun is still struggling unremittingly. On November 1, 1994, Yang zujun was removed from the DPP. In 1997, 42 year old Yang zujun put on her schoolbag again and walked into the campus. This time, she traveled across the ocean to study at emherst College of University of Massachusetts in the United States.

achievement
She called herself the "unification faction" and supported the reunification of the two sides of the Taiwan Straits. In Taiwan, she was called "Taiwan traitor" by some people. She said that she is an idealist and only does what she likes, regardless of fame and wealth. In the 1970s, she promoted Taiwan's "Folk Song Movement" and influenced a large number of singers such as Luo Dayou and Li Zongsheng. In the 1980s, she organized Taiwan veterans to visit their relatives. She was the first Taiwanese singer to "legally" return to the mainland and hold concerts in the mainland. Later, she turned her attention to the bottom of Taiwan society and began to rescue prostitutes, serve fishermen and participate in the women's movement. Now, she is an associate professor in the Department of mass communication at the Chinese Cultural University of Taiwan, striving for the rights and interests of the bottom of Taiwan society.
influence
Yang zujun was an important standard bearer of the "sing your own song" Folk Song Movement in the 1970s. In memory of Li shuangze, a legendary bard friend, Hu Defu and Yang zujun recorded some popular songs such as "beautiful island" and "Young China", which ushered in the heyday of Taiwan folk songs. However, the surging enthusiasm for Taiwan's land and people in her singing violated the taboo of political silence at that time. The subsequent political oppression made Yang zujun abandon her singing career and turn to the "non party" movement. However, it also strengthened her motivation to participate in Taiwan's social culture and political movement, and confirmed the track of Taiwan's transformation with her personal life.
Personal story
Release song "beautiful island"
after writing "beautiful island", Li shuangze did not publish this work before he died. Beautiful island first appeared at Li shuangze's farewell ceremony. On the night before yesterday, Yang zujun and Hu Defu collected and catalogued the manuscripts left by Li all night. Both "beautiful island" and "Young China" failed to pass the examination at that time. Because "beautiful island" was once sung by non party personages, it was considered to have the consciousness of Taiwan independence, while "Young China" was judged to yearn for reunification because it was used by Pro Communist personages in the united front. It is ironic for Li shuangze, who has no special political position, that the two works written by the same author can be used and abandoned by the United and independent factions. However, Li shuangze's "beautiful island" was included in his 1979 album "Yang zujun". At the beginning of its release, it was not concerned by the authorities, only that it could not be sung on TV and radio. In 1979, after the non party personages named this song as a magazine, beautiful island, which had no political intention, was equated with the non Party movement, and has been banned since then. However, not all non party figures support the song "beautiful island". On September 8, 1979, at the inaugural reception of Meili Island magazine held at Zhongtai hotel in Taipei, a conflict broke out: Yang zujun sang "Meili island" on the spot, trying to inspire people, but some comrades objected to it on the grounds of "not crane talk" and "piggy song". On May 21, 2003, Hu Defu sang at the witch shop in Taipei. Yang zujun was a guest. Later, he went on stage to sing with Hu Defu. The song "beautiful island" 20 years ago was their constant choice. On October 19, 2003, Yang zujun acted as the mysterious guest in the unit of "Hu Defu and old friends" in the "2003 wandering songs music festival", and the chorus was still "beautiful island"! It can be said that Hu Defu and Yang zujun, and Li shuangze's "beautiful island" have the constant shackles. Hu Defu and Yang zujun watched the birth of "beautiful island", the ban of "beautiful island", and the spread of "beautiful island". After more than 20 years, the two became white, their singing voice changed, and each had a piece of world. "Beautiful island" is still the same. In 2008, Dashu's music image published "songs that can't be shut up", which included the song "beautiful island" sung by Hu and Yang in 2003. The rest of the songs were not re recorded, but created the most real look of that year. In this album, Yang zujun wrote another "see Meili island again", describing the social changes and her own experience since the publication of Meili island in the 1970s.
Help the young prostitutes
in Taiwan in the last century, the daughters of some rural or Aboriginal people were sold to the cities as prostitutes, and the teenage girls were forced to do jobs that were extremely out of proportion to their age every day. At that time, Yang zujun was invited to do TV programs on Taiwan TV. At that time, there were only three TV stations in Taiwan, and Yang zujun's appearance rate was quite good. However, because Yang zujun's songs were banned, the TV station asked her to sing the song of "purification and patriotism". After finishing the third issue, Yang zujun quit her job. It was during that time that she saw a report written by her friend about the prostitutes. Yang zujun seized the clue and found out where the prostitutes were through her friends. Because she is a woman, and on television, in the eyes of others is a star, so enter such a place was not blocked. Yang zujun describes the scene when she first saw these young prostitutes: in a small space of less than 20 square meters, there are 36 11 or 12-year-old girls, their eyes full of fear. These girls receive guests as many as 30 times a day, with only one or two yuan each time. Yang zujun vowed to rescue them. This is the first time that she has done such a thing, and she has no experience. At first, she taught these girls
