Lin Yingping was born into a teacher's family in Shantou City, Guangdong Province. Good family education, created her studious character. When she was ten years old, her parents saved money and bought her a zither. From then on, she began to learn zither from Weng Zhou. Due to her hard work and talent, Lin Yingping was admitted to the Affiliated High School of Xinghai Conservatory of music in 1979. She was taught by Professor Chen Anhua, a famous guzheng player and educator. Since then, she has received strict professional training. In 1984, Lin Yingping was admitted to the Central Conservatory of music and was praised by the Academy for her highest score in the national college entrance examination. During the semester, he taught the famous zither Zheng family moth, Teng Chunjiang, and the famous guzheng educationist, theoretician and performer Cao Zheng. He studied various styles of the school widely, and gathered the essence of each family, and gradually formed his subtle, fresh and elegant playing style. In order to carry forward Chaozhou Zheng music, ten sets of Chaozhou music are arranged into a complete guzheng score and incorporated into the teaching materials.
