He played live on the radio every weekend. In the early days of the liberation of Shanghai, he performed "student exercises" created by him at the inaugural meeting of the Shanghai Federation of trade unions, which was a sensation. In 1948, he adapted "mother-in-law and daughter-in-law fight" and "Autumn Thoughts", and began to compose Pipa music. Many young students came to seek art. Ye xuran, Liu Dehai, Li Guohun and others were the first group of students.
Turn to music
At that time, Mr. Lin Shicheng was already a famous doctor in Shanghai. He was good at treating many difficult and miscellaneous diseases, especially gynecological infertility. Fu Lei, Liu Haisu and other celebrities have been looking for him to see a doctor for many years. He has a rich income and a rich family. But Mr. Lin Shicheng said, "there are thousands of good doctors. I'm the only one who can pass on master Shen. I can't let Pudong school be cut off from me." he has long set up his ambition of "abandoning medicine and becoming happy.". In 1956, the Central Conservatory of music invited him to teach in the north. He resolutely closed his own clinic. From then on, he devoted his whole life, body and mind to Pipa and to the cause of Chinese national music education.
After arriving at the Central Conservatory of music, Mr. Lin Shicheng was one of the only four folk music teachers at that time, and also the only Pipa teacher. He alone undertook all the pipa teaching work of the college's universities, middle schools and affiliated primary schools, and compiled various teaching materials such as gongchi notation, pipa playing method, Pipa score, etc. In order to enrich Pipa teaching materials, he assiduously studied folk music from all over the world and adapted them into Pipa performance score. He has collected and edited nearly 100 folk music such as "lotus in dripping water", "Fisherman's music" and "Lotus out of water". He is the first person to systematically compile Pipa teaching materials in history.
