Guozhuang dance is a popular folk dance type in Tibetan areas. With the development of Tibetan society and history, it has changed constantly. It not only reflects the working conditions such as beating highland barley, twisting wool, feeding livestock and making wine, but also shows the Tibetan customs and customs, and performs when men get married, women get married, new houses are built and guests are welcomed.
Guozhuang dance can be divided into old Guozhuang dance and new Guozhuang dance. The old Guozhuang dance has the nature of sacrifice. It can only sing special lyrics without any changes. The dance is slow, steady, simple and solemn. Xinguozhuang mostly reflects the activities of agriculture and animal husbandry production, business and trade, and its lyrics and dance movements are relatively flexible. According to the different popular regions, Guozhuang dance can be divided into Ganzi Guozhuang, Manai Guozhuang and other categories. Generally, there is no limit to the number of people in Guozhuang dance, either one or more. Men and women in a circle, face inside the circle, dancing. The dance steps include "Guozhuo" and "kuzhuo", the former is walking dance, the latter is turn dance.
Nangqian zhuoganma is an ancient folk dance popular in Nangqian County, Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province. It is said that it originated in Xuanhe period of Northern Song Dynasty and has a history of nearly 900 years.
Nangqian zhuoganma was originally a dance performed by noble families in religious activities or festivals. It was created in Kham Tibetan and expressed in the form of "ode" and "dance". During the performance, the dancers hold hands and sing in unison. When dancing, the legs mainly exert force, the upper body is in a follow-up state, and the foot steps are changeable. Accompanied by flute, ox horn and drum, drum is the main instrument. The lyrics rhyme and match neatly. From music to dance and costumes, they are known for their simplicity and elegance. Compared with other Tibetan dances, Nangqian zhuoganma is more calm and solemn, and some of the repertoires are slightly ceremonial. It has a number of repertoires, of which 22 have been collected by local authorities in recent years.
The clothing of Nangqian zhuoganma is the most distinctive. Male dancers wear red ropes and long red and black braids called "Zara" in Tibetan. He wore a white silk long sleeve garment inside, a sauce red Tibetan robe outside, a coralline decorated falcon, Tibetan knife and bullet belt around his waist, white silk lantern trousers and leather Tibetan boots on his feet. The female dancer's headdress is complex and changeable, with 50 to 60 braids in her hair. She wears gold and Silver Tibetan hairpins on her temples. Her head is decorated with long decorative jade waist seal sewn with Tibetan silk and satin. There are three amber on the top. Around her waist is a leather belt decorated with gold, silver and copper. On the waist belt are women's Tibetan knives and Tibetan wallet made of gold, silver and copper. Her feet wear leather middle waist Tibetan boots.
Nangqian zhuoganma is the crystallization of the collective wisdom of the Tibetan people in Nangqian, which has a wide range of mass and folk heritage. At present, this unique way of folk dance is facing the dilemma of lack of successors, which is in urgent need of protection.
