Brief introduction of Qinghai Han folk ditty:
Applicant: Xining City, Qinghai Province
Qinghai Han folk ditty is a kind of folk song with deep historical tradition and folk customs. It is mainly spread in the eastern part of Qinghai where the Han people live in compact communities. Due to the influence of geography and historical evolution, the Han folk ditty here is rich and colorful, and occupies a unique position in China's folk songs with its unique plateau style.
During the Spring Festival every year, the local association holds a warm and grand folk fire activity. At that time, people enjoy themselves singing and dancing while playing Yangko, dragon lantern, lion and dry boat. Most of the folk songs are traditional tunes with local characteristics, such as "flying a kite", "weaving handkerchief", "birds at night", "songs of four seasons", etc. Qinghai Han minor is one of the most popular folk songs of the Han nationality. It is widely spread, regular in form, relatively fixed in lyrics and music, diverse in expression, beautiful in melody and delicate in expression. It is often sung in the public leisure, entertainment and celebration occasions. The content involves all aspects of social life, mostly in the form of ballads. The lyrics are mainly five character sentences and seven character sentences, and other sentence patterns are also seen. Most of them are four sentences in a paragraph, while those with dozens of sentences in a paragraph are often related to various historical stories or characters, as well as narrative songs with various themes.
The themes of folk minor singing of the Han nationality in Qinghai are wide, including social life, professional activities of scholars, farmers, industry and commerce, folk customs, praising the past and discussing the present, stories and legends, women's suffering, etc. Singing Qinghai Han minor is usually accompanied by Sanxian, bamboo flute, Banhu (or Zhonghu, Sihu, erhu) and Lingling.
Qinghai Han folk ditty has a certain reference value for the study of local history, nationality, religion, belief, folk custom, folk customs, local chronicles and so on. In particular, it has a certain impact on the spread and integration of the Central Plains culture in the Qinghai Tibet Plateau, as well as the evolution of the local people's outlook on life, values and folk customs.
