Applicant: anci District, Langfang City, Hebei Province
Jizhong Sheng wind music is popular in nearly 30 counties and cities south of Beijing, west of Tianjin and north of Cangzhou and Dingzhou. It is a unique type of percussion music in Jizhong plain. It is commonly known as "concert" among the people. It is also known as "Sheng wind music" because it is mainly played by Guan and Sheng. In addition to Sheng, pipe, flute and other wind instruments, Jizhong Sheng wind instruments also use cloud Gong, drum, cymbal, cymbal, Dangdang and other percussion instruments. The music of Sheng Guan music is divided into three categories: Suite, ditty and independent percussion music. The suite is a major part of the whole playing repertoire because of its long length and complex structure. Jizhong Sheng wind music is spread all over the whole Jizhong plain. Farmers in this area take the village as a unit to perform in local folk activities such as sacrifice and funeral, and inherit it from generation to generation in their own unique way.
Dongzhangwu village is located in Luolong Town, anci District, Langfang City, Hebei Province. The concerts spread in this village belong to the Buddhist music of Linji sect and caodong sect of Zen Buddhism, which was introduced into the folk by temples in the late Qing Dynasty. The repertoire of Dong Zhangwu's concert is very rich, among which the most important are the Buddhist masterpieces such as San Zhuan Zan, Pu'an mantra and Bei Sheng mantra. In the Boxer Movement, Dongzhangwu village set up TANKOU in 1900, and the concert also participated and played an active role in it. The musicians created some music adapted to the situation at that time, such as Shangmatai, goose prodigal son, fluttering grasshopper, crying yellow sky, in order to coordinate with the development of the Boxer Movement. It is worth mentioning that the musicians of Dongzhangwu concert once played music and participated in the Luolong Resistance War, so that the ancient Buddhist music, as the military music of the boxers, was integrated into the fight against the aggressors, and composed an impassioned Elegy of the Chinese peasants' spontaneous organization to defend the national dignity and fight against foreign aggression with their flesh and blood.
Dongzhang Wuyi concert has a history of more than 100 years. In order to remember the martyrs and carry forward the spirit of patriotism, the boxer concerts perfectly preserved these music and played them in festivals and leisure time.
At present, there are more than 20 members in Dongzhang Wuyi group concert, with a full range of musical instruments, and can skillfully perform more than 30 pieces of music. But with the passage of time, the concert equipment is old and there is no successor, which needs to be protected and inherited.
