Introduction to Guqin art (Yushan Qin school)
Applicant: Changshu City, Jiangsu Province
Guqin, also known as "Qin", "Qixian Qin", also known as "Lvqi", "Sitong", is a kind of flat stringed musical instrument. Guqin art is the oldest, the highest level of art in Chinese history, and the most national spirit, aesthetic taste and traditional artistic characteristics of instrumental music performance form, in addition to solo, also includes singing and playing both Qin song and Qin Xiao ensemble. According to the archaeological data, the shape of Guqin was complete in Han Dynasty. Through the creative development of daiqin people and literati, Guqin art has become more and more mature and perfect. It is closely related to social life, history, philosophy and literature. It has made great achievements in the accumulation of repertoire, playing skills, temperament, inheritance methods and Guqin technology, showing rich humanistic connotation.
Yushan Guqin school is one of the schools of Guqin in China. It originated in Changshu, Jiangsu Province and has an influence all over the country. Yan Yan, the master of pre Qin Dynasty, laid the foundation of Confucian culture in the South and made Changshu the hometown of Guqin. Yan Tianchi founded "Yushan Qin school" in the late Ming Dynasty and the early Qing Dynasty. It has been widely spread for 400 years and has a far-reaching influence. It is praised as "authentic ancient music" by later generations. Later, Xu Qingshan, Wu JINGLUE and other Yushan Guqin masters made outstanding contributions to the development of Guqin art.
Great sound is hard to hear. The musical concept of "harmony" and Taoist music of "Da Yin Xi Sheng" are integrated into one, so that the beauty of movement and beauty can be reflected in each other, forming a refined and profound style. Over the past three hundred years, Yushan School of Qin not only gave birth to Guangling School of Qin, MeiAn School of Qin, Japanese guqin music and today's Yuqin society, but also deeply influenced the artistic ideas of Lingnan School, fujian School and Sichuan school of Qin. In the long-term development, Yushan Qin school, with its own artistic practice, naturally integrates into the cultural environment of Changshu and takes root in the cultural life of Changshu people. Up to now, it still inherits the spirit of traditional culture and plays an important role in the domestic Qin industry. Its representative repertoire includes Pu'an mantra and Wu Ye Wu Qiufeng.
Yushan Qin school was the most influential Qin school in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Its Song Xian Guan Qin Pu had a great influence in the Qin circle and was regarded as authentic by the Qin circle. At present, the Guqin playing art of Yushan school is in danger, so it is necessary to strengthen the protection.
