Qipao originated from Qinu in Qing Dynasty. After the revolution of 1911, Manchu Qipao was abandoned by Qinu. Only after 1920s did it recover slightly. But at that time, the style, cutting way and wearing object of cheongsam had a qualitative change. It was also called "Shanghai style cheongsam" because it happened in Shanghai, where Chinese and Western clothing culture meet. Shanghai style cheongsam adopts western style cutting method, and shows female body curve by opening and closing waist. At the same time, the Shanghai style cheongsam has evolved from the traditional noble flag women's robes to the civilian women's fashion.

The dragon and Phoenix cheongsam is the essence of the cheongsam of Shanghai style, and is the authentic inheritor of the handmade craft of the cheongsam in Shanghai, Shanghai. Dragon and Phoenix cheongsam production technology originated from suguang clothing shop. Its history can be traced back to the end of Qianlong in Qing Dynasty. Zhu Linqing, the first generation successor of dragon and Phoenix cheongsam production technology, was born in suguang clothing shop. He founded "Zhu Shunxing" Chinese style clothing shop in 1936 and applied traditional Chinese style clothing production technology to Shanghai style cheongsam. He is famous for his exquisite production of fashionable and high-grade cheongsam in Shanghai.

Longfeng Qipao is characterized by handmade, high-quality and personalized Seiko production. It inherits the traditional techniques of inlay, inlay, rolling, hanging, plate and embroidery of Su Guang ready-made clothes, which are on the verge of being lost. The selected fabrics, patterns formed by hand carving and embroidery, as well as the lucky buttons reflect the characteristics of Chinese traditional culture. This series of skills can be called unique skills in the field of Chinese cheongsam production. By the 1920s, "suguang clothing stores" had spread all over Shanghai.
