A brief introduction to the new variety of brown knitting:
Applicant: Xindu District, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province
Xinfan Brown knitting technique is popular in Gongyi, Jinshui, Qushui, Tonglian, Shiyun and other villages under the jurisdiction of Xinfan Town, Xindu District, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province. It is a folk handicraft with local characteristics.
It is said that Xinfan Brown weaving originated in Jiaqing period of Qing Dynasty. According to the literature, in the late Jiaqing period of Qing Dynasty, Xinfan women had the tradition of "analyzing the tender brown leaves for silk and weaving sandals". In the local villages and farmyards, women can be seen everywhere weaving handicrafts with white and delicate brown silk. Every summer and autumn is the peak of new palm weaving production. In summer, it mainly produces sandals and sandals. In autumn, it mainly produces craft Brown woven bags.
The raw materials of new palm weaving are mostly from Pengxian, Dayi, Qionglai, Dujiangyan and other mountainous areas. In April every year, artists comb the green tender brown leaves collected by them with needles to make them into a strip of brown silk that looks like green vermicelli. Then, the brown silk is twisted into brown rope, and then fumigated, bleached, and dried to make white and soft materials for use. At the same time, some of the brown silk is dyed for special decoration of brown woven utensils.
There are three kinds of new palm weaving techniques: the first is called pepper eye technique, that is, the equal distance arrangement of the warp lines of the brown silk cross each other to form a diamond, and then two weft threads are put through the four corners of the diamond, and so on, to weave a beautiful and regular pattern like a window pattern; the second is close knitting, in which the artists use the same density, equal distance and repeated method to weave a fine pattern Methods are mostly used for weaving shoes, fans and other products; the third is the "herringbone" pattern, that is, the "herringbone" pattern is used to design or control the warp and weft direction or composition of palm knitting. This weaving method is usually used in the knitting of hats, Mats and other daily necessities, which has the characteristics of beautiful and generous.
Xinfan Brown knitting not only has high artistic aesthetic value, but also has certain economic value. In recent years, the old artists of Xinfan zongbian have passed away one after another, which makes this art on the verge of lack of successors and urgently needs to be protected.
