Brief introduction of architectural painting
Applicant: Shaanxi Province
Architectural painting is a rather broad term. One layer of its meaning is the same as people's common understanding. It refers to the use of color, paint, paint and other raw materials to depict the image on the plane of the building wall; the other layer of meaning refers to the use of soil, stone, wood, cloth, paper, pottery and other materials to decorate the building and its internal furnishings. Based on the geographical and folk reasons, there are very obvious differences in the overall style and detail treatment of architectural color painting in different regions and nationalities in China. The material, technique, color and content all reflect the strong local characteristics, which fully shows the wisdom of the working people to adapt to local conditions.
Danqing is a kind of folk painting art which is based on architecture, carpentry, stonework and other techniques and combined with various kinds of applied equipment. It is widely distributed in the towns and villages of Yulin and Yan'an in Shaanxi Province. It is mostly seen in people's kilns, urban public landscape buildings and rural temples.
There are temple murals, non official architectural color paintings, color sculptures, water and land paintings, God's master, sedan chair, cross-border color paintings, Kang Wai, stove, cabinet paintings and other forms of expression in Northern Shaanxi craftsmanship Danqing. Most of them are farmers, many of them are from famous folk painting families. Craftsmanship in Northern Shaanxi includes painting, sculpture, woodwork, stone carving, architectural design, paper binding device and even "Yin and Yang" and many other skills. With the help of earth, stone, wood, cloth, paper, pottery, tung oil, stone color and other materials, it implements craftsmanship in public buildings, religious artifacts, residential environment and furniture, connecting the real material life and spiritual life of local residents. After hundreds of years of development, Northern Shaanxi craftsmanship Danqing has formed a unique and complete system of artistic creation and ecology. The genealogy of inheritance and image pattern is complete and clear.
Craftsmanship is an integral part of the people's life in Northern Shaanxi. It takes folk craftsmen as the main body of creation and inheritance, rooted in the farming culture of the mountains and grasslands, and vertically linked with the market culture of agriculture, animal husbandry, industry and commerce. The hybridity of various cultural elements forms its unique integration and coordination mechanism, which shows the research value of art anthropology, folk ecology, religion and art history.
