Introduction to Tibetan calligraphy (Guoluo de ang Sazhi)
Applicant: Guoluo Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province
The Tibetan people have always attached great importance to the art of calligraphy. Tibetan calligraphy is famous for its various typefaces. As the most efficient practical writing style, chieftain style is widely used in popular Tibetan culture areas. According to the traditional classification of Tibetan subjects, calligraphy belongs to a small branch of gongqiaoming. There are three types of Tibetan Calligraphy: true calligraphy, running calligraphy and cursive calligraphy. Real calligraphy is used for engraving, running calligraphy is used for official documents and other solemn handwritten characters, and cursive calligraphy is used for ordinary records and letters. Tibetan calligraphy is written with a hard pen. Most of the pens are made of bamboo. There are also iron pens. The colorful Tibetan calligraphy not only has high artistic value, but also contains rich cultural connotation, which provides a broad space for the study of Tibetan literature, philosophy, medicine, music, painting and so on.
Guoluo De'ang Sazhi, namely De'ang Sazhi calligraphy, is a kind of Tibetan writing art which is popular in De'ang Township, dari County, Guoluo Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province and some surrounding areas. It gets its name because it originated in De'ang township. Its founder is sa'an Danzeng, a monk of De'ang Nationality. Golog De'ang Sazhi has a history of more than 200 years. It has been inherited in the form of single biography for seven generations. Ba Zhi, an 80 year old man in De'ang temple, is the only successor of this unique calligraphy. Guoluo De'ang Sazhi is a kind of hard pen calligraphy with simple and smooth lines, which is similar to the engraving style. Most of them are written in Wujin (regular script) and Wumei (running script), including big black, small black, round, Lanza (Sanskrit) and artistic style. Guoluo De'ang's writing style has its own characteristics. It is straight in warmth and flexible in hardness, showing the beauty of music and dance. This kind of calligraphy seems concise, but it is not easy to master in practice. It requires the writer to have profound skills and profound cultural accomplishment. The writing instruments of Guoluo De'ang Sazhi are also very exquisite. There are strict regulations on pen, ink and paper, among which bamboo pen is the most important. The products of Guoluo De'ang Sazhi are made according to strict technological process, showing a certain degree of scientificity in pen making, paper making, printing, ink research, etc. Goluode angsazhi is an important achievement of Tibetan culture, art and social development history, which has high research value of ethnology, art and history and culture.
