Guangling County, Datong City, located in the northeast of Shanxi Province, is known as "the Pearl on the plug". Guangling dyeing paper-cut is unique in its bright colors, vivid shapes, fine lines, vivid expression and delicate knife technique. Guangling dyeing paper-cut has a long history. According to research, it took shape in the early Tang Dynasty and formed a unique style in the Ming Dynasty.

Guangling dyeing paper-cut is mainly made by knife cutting dyeing technique. It needs to go through multiple processes such as design, fumigation, carving, cutting and dyeing.
