Applicant: Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province
Wulin tune, also known as "hangqu", is popular in Hangzhou and surrounding areas of Zhejiang Province. It evolved from the propaganda activities of folk Baojuan in the Qing Dynasty and gradually took shape in the late Qing Dynasty, with a history of more than 100 years.
Wulin tune has various forms of expression and unlimited performance venues. The performers are generally four to five people. The main feature is that they are rap singers. The performers portray the characters with the help of Sheng, Dan, Jing, Mo and Chou to simulate their identity, action, expression and tone. Sometimes, a performer can simulate several characters, jump out and jump in, and change a lot. The lyrics of Wulin tune mostly use seven character and cross sentence, but rhyme in the next sentence, the style is clear and clear, popular and clear. Speaking according to the trade, Sheng, Dan, Jing and Mo all use Hangzhou dialect, while clowns use Hangzhou dialect, which is lively and distinctive.
The singing music of Wulin tune belongs to banqiang style. In addition to the main tunes such as "Continental tune", "26ban tune", "Pingban tune" and "Youhun tune", it also introduces folk tunes and other sister tunes according to the needs of content expression. Erhu, Sanxian and Pipa are the main accompaniment instruments of Wulin tune. In the early stage, they performed with wooden fish to beat the festival, and in the later stage, they changed to drum plate. In the long-term performance practice, Wulin tune has accumulated more than 40 traditional repertoires, among which Fang Qing meets Gu, Yue feizhuan, Yu Tangchun, he Wenxiu, Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai are representative works.
In April 1969, Hangzhou quyi troupe was dissolved, and most of the Wulin tune artists in the troupe changed careers, which led to the rapid decline of this excellent southern folk quyi style. At present, it is difficult for Wulin Diao to survive and is on the verge of extinction.
