Introduction to the solo show:
Applicant: Huangpu District, Shanghai
It was founded in the late Qing Dynasty and prevailed in the early years of the Republic of China. It has been inherited and developed to this day. It originated in Hangzhou and is popular in Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and other places. Only in the old city of Huangpu District, Shanghai, there are tens of millions of enthusiastic audience of the solo show.
Solo opera is performed in Shanghai dialect and Hangzhou dialect. It originated from folk rap and new civilized opera. At first, it was performed by one person alone, and then gradually developed into two or more people performing on the same stage. There are generally two types of monologue, one is mainly speaking, the other is mainly singing. The former mainly relies on telling funny stories and jokes to create funny effects, and can also learn to speak local dialects; the latter mainly learns to sing various local opera tunes or folk tunes, so as to win the audience's laughter. The performing skills of solo show are similar to crosstalk, mainly including speaking, learning, doing and singing. Exaggeration, misunderstanding, coincidence, contrast, sophistry, error, substitution and homophony are often used in comedy. There are three common forms of solo performance. One is the stand-alone performance, which is called "single selling" in the jargon. It is divided into two types: narrative and casual. It is performed by one person and combined into a string of "burden (laughter)" by means of "teasing". At the end, it is specially arranged with an unexpected joke, commonly known as "burden bottom", which makes the audience laugh. The other is the double stand-alone performance, which is called "double selling" in the jargon The third is to say the time to string fish, also known as "color dress up", the actor appears as a character after a simple disguise, often one person multi angle, jump in and out, at any time through the disguise change identity, performing relaxed and free, strong comedy, and then further developed into a farce.
The repertoire is rich and the content is all inclusive. Xu Zhuodai, known as a "pioneer" in the period of the Republic of China, once edited and performed "who will die first" and "Ah Fu on business", leaving a number of important works for the solo. Later, Wang yuanneng, Wang Xiaoxiao and Liu Chunshan, who are known as the "three comics", formed their own representative works in the performance. Wang yuanneng's "waiwaiwai everywhere", "Ningbo empty city plan" and "kumiaogengduye", Wang Xiaoxiao and Bao Lele's "fruit joke", "huoshao tofu shop" and "Da Nao Minglun hall", Liu Chunshan's "you dock" and "Wang Jiada" Chufeng has won the audience with high artistic level and enriched the stage of the solo.
At present, the cast of the soloist is seriously aging and lack of successors, which is in urgent need of protection and revitalization.
