Luoqiang, formerly known as "luoziqiang", is commonly known as "laoziqiang" or "laoziqiang". It is formed on the basis of folk art "lianhualuo". It is popular in Northern Henan, Southern Hebei, Eastern Shanxi and eastern Shandong. It has both Qupai style and banqiang style. It was developed from lianhualuo folk art in Anyang, Neihuang and Nanle, and formed in the middle of Qing Dynasty. Because it mainly originated in Anyang area of Henan Province, it is also called "Anyang cavity".

Luoqiang tune is developed from Anyang local folk minor. It is light and fast, and its main accompaniment instruments are pihu, bamboo flute, etc. Singing tune has flat, two board, three board, water, lax board, twist board, etc. There are three schools of tune: Anyang, Linxian, Chengan and Linzhang are the middle roads, which are called "Luozi tune"; Wuan and Shexian are the West roads, which are called "Wuan Luozi tune"; Neihuang, Weixian, Qingfeng, nanluo, Huaxian and Puyang are the east roads, which are called "Luoqiang tune". The three tunes have their own characteristics. In the west, Wuan tunes have various levels, ups and downs, and their lines are loud and clear. In the middle, the pronunciation is flat, but the singing is rough, paying attention to stealing words and flashboard, and being good at singing coloratura. In the East, the tunes are smooth, simple, clear and good at tragedy. There are 23 kinds of unique singing music in 6 categories, 58 kinds of Qupai and percussion music, 12 kinds of special body stunts, 3 kinds of special musical instruments, and 210 oral repertoires. There are many traditional operas of Luoqiang opera, which are good at expressing the life of farmers and folklore. Most of them are small dramas with popular words. Their performances are full of life flavor, such as "blue bridge meeting", "An'an sending rice", "little second sister dreaming", "Wang Dingbao borrowing Dang" and so on.

In recent years, the market of louqiang performance has been shrinking. Some old artists with unique skills continue to die. Only Luoqiang troupe in Neihuang County, Henan Province, is left as a professional group. The art of Luoqiang needs to be protected.
