Introduction to liuqiang
Applicant: Jimo City, Shandong Province
Liuqiang was formed in the Dagu River Valley in the west of Jimo City, Shandong Province. It has been widely spread in Shandong Peninsula for more than 200 years. It is evolved from the folk rap "Ben elbow drum". In the early stage, there was no music score, so it used "liuqiang" to sing. Later, it replaced "liuqiang" with the homophonic "Liu", which is called "liuqiang".
There are 46 tunes and 33 gongs and drums in the liuqiang music system. Its mother songs "Huadiao" and "beidiao" embody the unique style of this opera's singing music. Liuqiang has a large number of plays, including more than 120 traditional plays, more than 80 transplanted plays and more than 40 modern plays. Traditional dramas mostly show love stories between men and women, joys and sorrows, in order to promote traditional ethics. The representative works are Tokyo, Xijing, Nanjing and Beijing, and the golden hairpin, jade cup, silk orchid, fire dragon, kite, key, Luoshan and embroidered shoes .
Liuqiang is fresh and simple, funny and vivid, which is warmly welcomed by the masses in the spreading areas and known as the "flower of Jiaodong".
