Brief introduction of shadow play (Changli shadow play)

Changli shadow play is an important part of shadow play in Eastern Hebei Province. Most of the shadow plays in different places borrow the local opera singing, only Changli shadow play has created its own unique singing. Changli shadow play's singing is based on Changli folk songs. It is full of Changli people's joys and sorrows. In the history of Changli, there were famous film troupes such as majiaban and qijiaban. Famous artists include Mr. Gao Rongjie, who is known as "Mei Lanfang in shadow puppet world", Mr. Qi Yongheng, who is known as "the king of arrow" and "the living filmmaker", Mr. Xiao Fucheng, Mr. jushang and Mr. Tian Shimin, who are shadow sculptors. The traditional plays that are often performed include Qian Kun Dai, Qin Xianglian and Shao Yulan.
