CHENQiao Street

Chenqiao street is located in the north gate of Nantong city. It is known as "the hometown of sheet metal", "the hometown of shipbuilding" and "the hometown of architecture". It is known as "the cradle of Nantong private economy". The total area of the street is 29.1 square kilometers, under the jurisdiction of one neighborhood committee and nine administrative villages, with a total population of 28878 (2010). Chenqiao street is the location of Nantong shipbuilding supporting industrial concentration area. Jiuwei port and Tongyang Canal run through the whole area. Located in the northwest of Nantong City, with a planning area of 8.6 square kilometers, Nantong shipbuilding supporting industrial zone (Chenqiao) is built along Jiuwei port, a tributary of the Yangtze River, and Tongyang Canal.
