Huangqiao street is located in the central urban area of Suzhou, belonging to Xiangcheng District, Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province, 8.5km away from Gucheng district and 4.5km away from the administrative center of Xiangcheng District, with a street area of 23.15km2.
Huangqiao Street won the title of Suzhou health Street and Jiangsu primary health care qualified.

Evolution of organizational system
In ancient times, the five emperors (Huangdi, Zhuanxu, DIHE, Tangyao and Yushun), Zhuanxu's Gaoyang family established Jiuzhou (Ji, Yan, Qing, Xu, Yang, Jing, Yu, Liang and Yong), and the Xia and Shang Dynasties (about 21st century BC to 11th century BC) all belonged to Yangzhou.
During the Zhou Dynasty (11th century BC to 2nd century BC), Huangqiao became the territory of the eastern Wu, Yue, Chu and Qin Dynasties.
In the 26th year of Qin Yingzheng (221 BC), the county system was implemented. There were Kuaiji county and Wu County. The county was governed by Wu County, and Huangqiao was under the jurisdiction of Wu County.
Han Dynasty (195-23 BC), successively under the state of Wu, Taide County, Wu County.
In the southern and Northern Dynasties (421-587 AD), it was subordinate to Wujun and Wuzhou.
Sui Dynasty (589-607 AD), has been subordinate to Suzhou, Wuzhou, Wujun.
In the first year of Wansui Tongtian in Tang Dynasty (696 AD), Wu County was changed into Changzhou County after it was established as Changzhou County; in the 12th year of Dali (777 AD), it was changed into Changzhou county.

In January of the first year of the Republic of China (1912 AD), Changzhou county and Wu County were merged, and the administrative villages in the current territory were subordinate to Wuqiu (Huqiu), Confucianism and Jine township of Wu County; in November, Wu County implemented the "temporary City township system of Jiangsu", which was divided into 7 cities and 21 townships, and Huangqiao belonged to 2 cities (Huguan and Lumu) and 1 township (Huangdai).
In November 1927, the county was divided into 12 townships: Dazhuang Township belongs to the first district (Hushuguan), huangtuqiao Town, beizhuangji Township, Zhuanchang Township, wangxiangbang Township, niuchebang Township, hanjingou Township, Hujiawan Township, fangjiabang Township and Zhangjiazhuang Township belong to the Sixth District (Lumu), and zhujiaba Township, Shengtian Township and Xiazhuang Township belong to the twelfth district (Huangdai).
In February of 1934, Wu County readjusted its administrative division according to its area and registered permanent residence, and set up four townships. Dazhuang township was merged into Huayang township of Huguan District, huwan and hanjingou Township into Zhuanchang township of Lumu District, and beizhuangji, wangxiangbang and niuchebang Township into huangtuqiao township of Lumu district. The Township Office was located in two tile roofed houses in the south of Xitu of huangtuqiao. Fangbang and Xiazhuang belong to Zhimian township of Huangdai District, while zhujiaba, Jinshan, Shengtian and Zhangjiazhuang belong to Xingren township of Huangdai district.
In November of the 26th year of the Republic of China (1937 A.D.), the Japanese army occupied Wu County and Huangqiao fell.
In March of the 28th year of the Republic of China (1939 A.D.), the territory was divided into three townships: Hushuguan, Lumu and Huangdai.
On August 15, 1945, the war of resistance against Japanese aggression was won. In September, the establishment was restored to the situation before 26 years of the Republic of China.
In February of the 36th year of the Republic of China (1947 A.D.), Wu County merged 22 districts and 855 townships into 9 districts and 138 townships. There are 4 townships in the territory, Changjing Township belongs to Hushuguan District, and huangtuqiao, Zhanshang and Dainan townships belong to Huangdai district.
On April 27, 1949, Wu County was liberated. The people's Government of Wuxian county was established, with jurisdiction over 8 districts and 48 townships. Huangtu bridge belongs to Lihu Township, Huangdai Town, Huangdai district.
In March 1950, the people's Government of Wuxian County rebuilt quxiang and abandoned Baojia to build villages. There are 23 villages in Wuxian County, which are subordinate to 5 townships: Qingdun township of Huguan District, huangtuqiao Township, Zhanshang Township and Likou township of Lumu District, and Yugeng township of Huangdai district. Huangtuqiao township government is located in Majiazhai.
In May 1953, all the villages in the territory belonged to Dahua township of Huguan District, Yugeng township of Huangdai District, and huangtuqiao, Zhanshang and Likou townships of Lumu district.
In January 1956, Lumu district was merged into Huangdai District, which governed 2 towns and 12 townships. Zhanshang township was merged into huangtuqiao township. Fangbang and Dazhuang are merged into huangtuqiao Township, Xiazhuang, Jinshan and Shengtian belong to Peiwei Township, Zhengxian and Zhuba belong to Likou township.
In September 1957, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged. The jurisdiction of huangtuqiao township was expanded, and Jinshan, Xiazhuang, Shengtian, Zhengxian, Zhuba and Zhangzhuang, which were from other places, were merged into huangtuqiao township.
In October 1958, the people's commune was established in Huangqiao, with a production brigade and a production team.
In 1983, Huangqiao people's commune was renamed the people's Government of Huangqiao Township, and the Economic Joint Committee of Huangqiao township was set up. Under it, villages and groups were set up, and villagers' committees and economic cooperatives were set up at the village level.
In March 1989, the seat of the government was moved to 168 East Huangqiao street.
In March 1993, the township was withdrawn to build a town, and the people's Government of Huangqiao township was renamed as the people's Government of Huangqiao town.
In 1995, Wuxian county was removed from the county and built into a city. Huangqiao town was subordinate to Wuxian City.
On February 28, 2001, Wuxian City was abolished and Huangqiao town belonged to Xiangcheng District of Suzhou city.

In January of the first year of the Republic of China (1912), Changzhou county and Yuanhe county were merged into Wu County, which still belonged to Wuqiu Township, Confucianism Township and Jine Township, with jurisdiction of 3 li, 5 Du and 13 Tu. In November, Wuxian County governed 21 townships in 7 cities. The capital map of the Qing Dynasty is still used below the city and township. The territory is divided into two cities: Hushuguan, Lumu and Huangdai township. It still governs five capitals and 13 maps.
In February 1934, four townships in the territory governed 29 Bao. Hushuguan District Huayang Township jurisdiction 2 Bao: the original Dazhuang Township 2 Bao. Zhuanchang Township in Lumu district has 10 baos: 5 baos in Zhuanchang Township, 3 baos in huwan Township and 2 baos in hanjingou township. In the winter of 1955, the primary cooperatives in each village were transformed into advanced agricultural production cooperatives one after another, and the advanced cooperatives replaced the administrative villages. In 1956, there were 18 advanced cooperatives under the jurisdiction of three townships. In September 1957, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged, and the territory of huangtuqiao township was expanded, with 18 senior communities under its jurisdiction.
In October 1958, Huangqiao people's commune was established, with seven brigades under its jurisdiction. In April 1959, seven brigades were divided into 14 brigades. In September, nine brigades of Huqiu commune, Jinxing, Jinguang, Fanrong, Huajing, Changqing, Huqiu, yanjiawei, Xinhua and Xintang, were merged into Huangqiao commune. In January 1960, a new fishery brigade was built in the territory. In October, nine brigades of the former Huqiu commune delimited Huangqiao, with 15 under its jurisdiction. In 1961, 15 teams were divided into 20 teams. In 1968, Zheng Xian and Zhu Ba merged into the new league brigade. Each brigade was also named after the village with a number serial number, and had jurisdiction over 19 brigades.
In 1983, the commune, the brigade and the small brigade were changed into townships, villages and groups respectively, governing 19 administrative villages and 156 groups. In April 2003, 19 administrative villages were merged into 9 administrative villages, namely Hedong, Huangqiao, fangbang, Zhangzhuang, Shengtian, huwan, Muxiang, Dazhuang and Zhanshang.
On December 26, 2005, the establishment of Huangqiao town was abolished, and it became the Huangqiao sub district office of Suzhou Xiangcheng District People's government, with jurisdiction over 9 administrative villages and 1 town neighborhood committee.
