Suyangshan town is located in the northwest of Pizhou City, 15 kilometers away from Pizhou City. It is a key central town of Xuzhou City. The whole town covers an area of 90.13 square kilometers (2017), with a cultivated area of 80000 Mu and a population of 77365 people (2017). Suyangshan is the birthplace of "Pizhou white garlic". The brand value of "Pizhou white garlic" is 14.153 billion yuan, ranking 24th in geographical indication protection products and 13th in geographical indication products of primary agricultural products (including flowers). It has become one of the only three regional public brands in Jiangsu Province, and won the "top 100 national landmark brands of fruit and vegetable industry" in 2016.

Historical evolution
Suyangshan town was originally named suniang mountain. It is said that a long time ago, the queen mother spent the night in this mountain and got the name "suniang mountain". Later, it became "suyangshan" with its homonym. In the third year of the Republic of China, suyangshanwei group was set up as seven districts, and suyangshan township was set up as five districts in the 24th year.
Lanling County of Shandong Province was established in 1949. In 1953, it was assigned to Pixian County. It was divided into 15 districts. In 1957, it was withdrawn and merged into suyangshan township. In 1968, it was changed into suyangshan people's commune. In 1983, it was restored to township. In 1987, it was changed into town. In 2000, it was withdrawn and merged into suyangshan town. The town government was stationed in suyangshan Town, North suyangshan street, Zhennan road.
