Xujing town

Xujing town is located in the Qingpu District of Shanghai, located in the western suburbs of Shanghai's central city, and bordering Hongqiao hub. It is the east wing area in the strategic plan of "one city, two wings" in Qingpu. In 2017, the total area of Xujing town was 38.54 square kilometers. In 2010, there were 9 administrative villages and 7 communities.

Xujing town is one of the earliest suburban new towns in Shanghai. It is the leading town of economic and social development in Qingpu District. It is also the "model town of Shanghai" and the "top ten town of comprehensive economic strength of Shanghai".

Xujing town is the starting point of 318 national highway, which has the reputation of "the first town of Wanli national highway". In 2002, it was awarded "national health town" by the National Patriotic Health Association. In 2018, the national health county (township) was reconfirmed.

History of construction

In 1910, Xujing area was under the jurisdiction of Qingpu County, Jiangsu Province. There are 16 autonomous regions in the county. Xujing district belongs to Panlong District, and there are townships and towns under the district.

In 1929, Qingpu County was divided into 13 districts. Xujing district was composed of Qibao, Panlong and Guanyintang. Xujing town is set up by the district office.

In 1931, the county was merged into eight districts, including 98 townships. Xujing area belongs to the seventh area.

From March 29 to August 34 (March 1940 to August 1945), Xujing belonged to the Fifth District.

In September 1945, the county was divided into eight districts, and Xujing district was under the jurisdiction of the Fifth District.

In 1946, the county was reorganized into 27 townships, and Xujing district was under the jurisdiction of Longfeng township.

In February 1948, two district offices were set up in the county, governing 13 townships. Xujing district is under the jurisdiction of Longfeng township of Qinglong district.

On May 14, 1949, Xujing area was liberated.

On May 17, 1949, the people's Government of Qingpu County was established, and Xujing township was under the jurisdiction of the eighth Office of Qingpu County.

In May 1955, Xujing district was divided from Longgu district and was under the jurisdiction of Qingdong district. The district government set up Zhaoxiang town.

In May 1957, the whole county withdrew the districts and merged the townships. Xujing township was established by Longnan Township, Xu'an Township, zhaidong Township, lujiajia village and Jinlian village of Songlu township. The Township People's government is located in Xujing town.

Xujing commune was established in 1958, township was changed in 1983, and town was established in 1993.

Xujing Town, located in the west suburb of Shanghai, is the east gate of Qingpu District. Xujing town is close to the outer ring line of Shanghai Hangzhou railway in the East, 6km away from Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport and 40km away from Shanghai Pudong International Airport. It borders on Dianpu River in the south, Jiuting town and Sijing town in Songjiang District; Zhaoxiang town in the West; Huaxin Town in the north and Huacao town in Minhang District.

In Xujing area, national highway 318 and Huqingping highway cross the whole area 50 meters south of the town. Beiqing highway runs through Jinlian village from east to west. Xufeng highway and Jiajin (A5) highway connect north to south. Xuzhai road and Xujiu road have been opened to traffic. Shanghai Airlines railway passes through the east of Minzhu and Guanglian villages. Hongqiao International Airport is only 8 kilometers away from Xujing.

Shanghai plans to build a super large comprehensive transportation hub, Hongqiao transportation hub, on the land of 26 square kilometers in Huacao Town, Minhang District, adjacent to Xujing town.

The transportation hub and supporting facilities of Xujing North Station of rail transit line 17 are located in the south of Songze Avenue and the east of South Lelu road in Xujing town.

The waterway traffic of Xujing town includes panlongtang and Xujing port. The Yanghe River runs through the whole town in the East and West. The aircraft and ships can sail directly to Huangpu River, Suzhou River and Dianpu river. Xujing town is 34 km away from Shanghai port and about 39 km away from Shanghai port container terminal. The cargo containers can be exported directly.
