Since the 26th year of the first emperor of Qin Dynasty (221 BC), Fangsong Prefecture belongs to Shuixian County, the prefect of Kuaiji Prefecture; in the 37th year (210 BC), Changshui county was changed to Quanxian county. In the fourth year of Yongjian (129) of the Eastern Han Dynasty, it was divided into Wujun County in the west of Zhejiang Province and Kuaiji County in the east of Zhejiang Province. In the 21th year of Jiajing (1542), Qingpu County was built on the land of Huating county and Shanghai county, and Fangsong Prefecture was divided into Huating county and Qingpu County. In 1646, Songjiangfu was located in Jiangnan Province, with jurisdiction over Huating, Shanghai and Qingpu counties. Fangsong area belongs to Huating and Qingpu counties. In 1656, Songjiang Prefecture established Lou County by analyzing part of the land in the southwest of Huating county. Fangsong area belongs to Lou County, Huating county and Qingpu County. In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), Songjiang Prefecture was withdrawn, and Huating county and Lou county were merged into Huating County, which was subordinate to Jiangsu Province. Fangsong area belongs to Huating and Qingpu counties. in 1914, Huating county was renamed Songjiang County, still under the jurisdiction of Jiangsu Province. In 1936, the office of the third administrative inspector of Jiangsu Province was established in Songjiang. In November 1949, Fangsong district was divided into Chengxi District, Chengdong District, Tiankun district and Yugan District of Qingpu County. In December 1954, Yugan District of Qingpu County was assigned to Songjiang County. In August 1957, Songjiang County withdrew its districts and merged its townships. Fangsong Prefecture was divided into Chengxi Township, Chengbei Township, Yushan Township and Tianma township. In September 1958, the people's commune was established by the integration of rural politics and society. At that time, Fangsong Prefecture belonged to Xingfu (later changed to the north of the city), Hongqi (later changed to the west of the city), Yingxiong (later changed to Tianma) and Sheshan people's commune in Songjiang County. In November 1958, Songjiang County was transferred to Shanghai. In March 1978, Songjiang County adjusted the commune division, and the Lianxing brigade of Chengbei people's commune was assigned to the newly established Zhuanqiao people's commune (later changed to Dongjing people's commune). Fangsong area belongs to five people's communes in Songjiang County, including Chengxi, Chengbei, Tianma, Sheshan and Zhuanqiao. In November 1980, Chengxi people's commune was changed into Cangqiao people's commune, Chengbei people's commune into WULITANG people's commune, Zhuanqiao people's commune into Dongjing people's commune, and the names of Tianma and Sheshan people's communes remained unchanged. Fangsong Prefecture belongs to five people's communes, namely Cangqiao, WULITANG, Dongjing, Sheshan and Tianma. In April 1984, the rural government and society were separated and the Township People's government was established. On February 27, 1998, Songjiang County was abolished and Songjiang District was established. Fangsong district was subordinate to Songjiang District.
