Jinshanwei town
Jinshanwei town belongs to Jinshan District of Shanghai. It is one of the historic towns in Shanghai. It is adjacent to Shihua street and Shanyang town in the East, Pinghu City in Zhejiang Province in the west, Shanghai Petrochemical Company in the South and Zhangyan and Langxia towns in the north. In the south of the town, there is the second industrial zone of Shanghai with a planning area of 10.78 square kilometers.
As of 2017, Jinshanwei town has a total land area of 55.06 square kilometers, which governs 5 communities and 14 administrative villages with a total population of 84420 (2017). In 2010, the town's GDP reached 2.91 billion yuan. In 2018, the national health county (township) was reconfirmed.
Historical evolution
After Qin unified the six states, Jinwei area belonged to Haiyan County. After separation, construction and abolition, it was transferred to Huating County in the 10th year of Tang Tianbao (751). In the 19th year of Hongwu (1386) of Ming Dynasty, in order to prevent the invasion of Japanese pirates, Jinshanwei was built in Jinshanwei, which is still Huating county. In the early Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Lou county and Huating county. Yongzheng four years (1726) belong to Jinshan, Huating county. From the fourth year of Yongzheng (1726) to the 23rd year of Qianlong (1726-1758) in the Qing Dynasty, Jinshan County was ruled. From the 33rd year of Qianlong to the first year of Jiaqing (1768-1796), Jinshan County was restored. From 1913 to 1949, it belongs to Jinshan County. In 1957, Ximen Township, Dashi Township, Xinfu Township and Dianpu Township merged to build Jinwei township. In 1958, it was called Jinwei people's commune. In 1966, the agricultural construction and Jinwei production brigade of Shanyang commune were assigned to Jinwei people's commune. in 1984, it was restored. In April 1993, the township was removed to build a town, named Jinshanwei town. In March 2001, the original Jinshanwei town and Qianwei town were abolished and a new Jinshanwei town was established under the jurisdiction of Jinshan District.
