Dongsheng Street is located on the East Bank of Sanjiangkou, Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province, bounded by Zhongxing Road in the East, Sanjiangkou coast of Jiangdong North Road in the west, adjacent to Baizhang street with Zhongshan East Road in the south, and accompanied by Jingjia road and minglou street in the north. The origin of place names

Dongsheng Street is named after the road. Dongsheng Road is a main road in the former Jiangdong area of Ningbo, which is located at the East Bank of Yongjiang River about 1500 meters downstream of Sanjiangkou. According to the records of Yinxian Tongzhi of the Republic of China, Dongsheng Road starts from Dahe road in the South and ends at jiangdongbei road in the north, with a length of 600 meters and a width of 3 meters. It was originally a stone slab pavement, but later it was rebuilt into concrete pavement, formerly known as Dongsheng Street, niyantou, Sanguantang and jiuchenghe. In the old days, the ice factory to the north of Dongsheng Road was followed by Ningbo Hefeng yarn factory, which was founded in 1905. The founder of the factory was Dai Ruiqing, the famous "God of wealth" in Ningbo. His ancestors used to be the shipping magnate who ran the "North Ship". Dai's economic strength was very strong. To the south of Dongsheng Road is Taifeng flour mill. The factory was founded in 1931, formerly known as Lifeng flour mill. It is an enterprise with deep background, because Du Yuesheng, Peng Yanfang and Yu zuochen are all shareholders of the factory. Hefeng yarn mill and Taifeng flour mill were the landmark enterprises of industrial development in Ningbo at that time. They were very influential. They were called "three and a half chimneys" in the industrial history of Ningbo, accounting for two. With the development of the two enterprises and the increasing number of employees, Dongsheng Street is very congested. Dai Ruiqing and Du Yuesheng negotiated with each other to build Dongsheng Street and rebuild the stone slab road into concrete pavement. They hit it off and renamed Dongsheng Street Dongsheng Road, which means that Jiangdong should surpass Haishu's pioneering and prosperity. Since then, Dongsheng Road has been recorded in the history of Ningbo City. After the founding of new China, in order to strengthen urban management, in February 1956, Ningbo municipal government decided to set up three streets in Jiangdong District of Ningbo, with Baizhang road as the center and one street in the South and one street in the north. To the north of Baizhang Road, considering the large number of employees of Hefeng yarn mill and Taifeng flour mill, and the surrounding residential areas, the street was decided to be located in Dongsheng Road, so it was named Dongsheng Street.
