Shalan Town, belonging to Ning'an City, Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province, is located in the northwest of Ning'an city. It borders Tokyo town in the southeast, Jingpo Lake National Scenic Spot in the south, xiaobeihu forest farm in the West and Hongxing farm in Hailin City in the north. The town government is located in the new village. The area is 1006.86 square kilometers.

Historical evolution
Shalan Town, formerly known as Shaling, was a post station in the south of Bohai State in Tang Dynasty.
In the late Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Ning'an Prefecture.
During the period of the Republic of China, Shalan township was changed.
In 1928, Shalan town was changed.
In 1933, it was changed to Shalan town.
In 1939, it was changed to Shalan village.
In 1945, it belonged to the third autonomous region.
In May 1947, it was assigned to the Second District of Jingpo county.
In August 1948, it was assigned to the Sixth District of Ning'an county.
In April 1955, it was changed to Shalan district.
In May 1956, it was changed to Shalan township.
In September 1958, it merged with bajiaxiang to form Shalan commune.
In March 1962, Sanling commune was established.
In April 1984, Shalan commune was changed into Shalan township.

The highest point of guangtu mountain is located in the southwest of Shalan Town, with an altitude of 1300 meters; the lowest point of the crater is located at the junction of Shalan town and Sanling Township, with an altitude of 350 meters.

Dongying Chengzi
Dongying Chengzi is located 2.5 kilometers north of gujingcheng Village (Chengjia Shaoguo) in Shalan Town, also known as Gaoli city. The city site is high in the West and low in the East, slightly rectangular. To the south of the city, there is a deep ditch 5 meters deep and 8 meters wide, which runs through the East and west walls. The whole city has only the east gate, which is 10 meters wide. There is a semicircular urn gate outside, 30 meters in diameter.
Xiying Chengzi
Xiying Chengzi is located in shanzui, 500m southeast by east of the No.15 company of Mushi junmachang in Shalan town. The site is trapezoidal, rammed earth, with a circumference of 631m. The east wall is 110 meters long and the remnant height is 1.5-2 meters; the south wall is 211 meters long and the remnant height is 2 meters; the west wall is 140 meters long and the remnant height is 2.5 meters; the north wall is 130 meters long and the remnant height is 2-2.5 meters. The whole site was well preserved, only the north gate was destroyed. There is an urn outside the south gate, about 70 meters in circumference. The east wall of the urn is 1.5 meters wide and the north gate is 8 meters wide. There are two moats outside the city wall, separated by earth dikes in the middle. The side moat is about 1 meter deep and 3-10 meters wide, and the outside moat is 0.5-0.7 meters deep and 2 meters wide.
