In the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to gongnutuk (District) of Guoerluosi Front Banner; in February 2014, Xinli township was renamed as baiyilaga township. By the end of 2018, Bai Yi La GA Township had 20945 registered residence population. As of June 2020, baiyilaga township has jurisdiction over 3 communities and 9 administrative villages.

History of construction
In the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to gongnutuk (District) of Guoerluosi Front Banner.
In the 26th year of the Republic of China (1937), it belonged to the first nutuk (District) of Guoerluosi banner; in the 29th year of the Republic of China (1940), it belonged to the jilatu nutuk (District); in the 34th year of the Republic of China (1945), it belonged to the jilatu district (eighth District).
In March 1956, it belongs to Hanjiadian township.
In April 1958, it belonged to jilatu township; in October, it belonged to jilatu commune.
In 1962, eight groups of xijilatu commune, Changjiaweizi, zuojiaweizi, nilatu, baiyiha, qianyingzi, Hanjiadian, Xinli and qiansanjiazi, set up Xinli commune.
In 1983, the commune was transformed into a township.
In February 2014, Xinli township was renamed as baiyilaga township.
