Liunan Township, belonging to Liuhe County, Tonghua City, Jilin Province, is located at the southernmost end of Liuhe County. It borders Guanghua town of Tonghua County in the East and Southeast, Gangou town of Tonghua County in the south, Hongshi town in the southwest, West and northwest, and sanyuanpu Korean town in the north and northeast. It is 35.5km away from Liuhe County, with a total area of 150.64km2.
In the early Qing Dynasty, Liunan township was a closed paddock; in September 1983, it was changed from Liunan commune to Liunan township. By the end of 2018, the number of registered residence in Liu Nan township was 12226. As of June 2020, Liunan countryside has jurisdiction over seven administrative villages.
In 2018, there were 2 industrial enterprises and 19 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters in Liunan township.
History of construction
In the early Qing Dynasty, it was a closed paddock.
In 1877, it belonged to Yangzi road and yangbao in the north of Tonghua County. In 1902, it belonged to the third district of Liuhe County.
In August 1936, it belonged to the fourth district. In 1945, it belonged to Liutong township. In 1947, it belonged to the third district.
In March 1956, two townships, xiaotonggou and malugou, were set up.
In March 1958, the two townships were merged into xiaotonggou Township, located in malugou; in September of the same year, they were merged into sanyuanpu commune.
In September 1960, sanyuanpu commune established malugou commune.
In March 1981, malugou commune was renamed Liunan commune.
In September 1983, Liunan commune was changed into Liunan township.
