Wulanhe Shuo Mongolian Township, belonging to Chaoyang County, Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province, is located at the west end of Chaoyang County, at the intersection of Daling River and huaniu River, bordering dongdadao Township in the East, opposite muluchengzi town across Daling River in the south, Kazuo County in the west, and National Highway 101 in bolochi town in the north. The maximum distance between East and West is 15 km, and the maximum distance between North and south is 7 km, covering an area of 65.86 square kilometers By 2018, the number of registered residence was 9566.

Historical evolution
In 1956, when the small township was established, wulanheshuo Mongolian township was established.
In 1958, it was incorporated into bolochi commune, known as wulanheshuo Friendship Society.
In January 1962, wulanheshuo commune was established, with five brigades under its jurisdiction.
In April 1972, it was renamed Xiawa commune. In June of the same year, the Xiawa brigade, which was originally under the jurisdiction of the five brigades, was divided into the Xiawa brigade, the Tuanjie brigade and the zodiac yingzi brigade, plus the other four brigades, with a total of seven brigades under its jurisdiction.
In 1982, the commune was abolished and the Mongolian township of wulanheshuo was restored. The seven brigades under its jurisdiction were changed into seven villages. The Xiawa brigades and the Tuanjie brigades were renamed as West wulanheshuo village and East wulanheshuo village respectively.
