economic development
Huangmaoling township is a new administrative district which was divided from Panzhihua commune in June 1974. Before liberation, the chieftain system was carried out. The people were bullied and oppressed by the chieftain, and they had no fixed place to live. The people had no livelihood, and their production and life were extremely difficult. After liberation, land reform through peaceful consultation was carried out in 1956 and planned economic construction began. However, due to traffic congestion, harsh environment and low level of productivity, people's life was still very difficult. Since the reform and opening up, under the leadership of the party, the people of all ethnic groups in huangmaoling township have emancipated their minds, renewed their ideas and worked hard with economic construction as the center, which has brought great changes to huangmaoling township. In 2002, the total industrial and agricultural output value of the township was 20.78 million yuan, the local fiscal revenue was 267000 yuan, the deposit balance of rural credit cooperatives was 7.4 million yuan, the total grain output was 6184 tons, the per capita grain of farmers was 345 kg, and the per capita net income of farmers was 755 yuan. In 2002, the total agricultural output value of the township was 14.53 million yuan, 1.99 million yuan more than 12.54 million yuan in 1995, with an average annual growth of 2.3%; the total grain output was 6184 tons, 9.2% more than 5661 tons in 1995; the planting area of cassava was 10082 mu, with an output of 50410 tons, with an output value of 7.56 million yuan; the output value of animal husbandry was 4.23 million yuan, accounting for 29% of the total agricultural output value; the output value of aquatic products was 60 tons, with an output value of 600000 yuan.
