Waziyu town

Waziyu Town, belonging to Yixian County, Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province, is located in the northeast of Yixian County. It is adjacent to luoluobao town of Beizhen city in the East, Yiwulu Mountain Nature Reserve in the southeast, dayushubao town in the south, Gaotaizi town across the river in the west, Qinghemen District of Fuxin City in the northwest, and shaohuyingzi town in the north, with an administrative area of 234.54 square kilometers.

In May 1949, waziyu was transferred from beifuyi county to Yixian County; on January 31, 2002, lengjiagou Township and waziyu town were merged into waziyu town; in January 2002, lengjiagou township was merged into Yixian County. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population in the town was 27243. As of June 2020, waziyu town has jurisdiction over 19 administrative villages, and the town people's government is stationed in waziyu village.

In 2011, the total financial revenue of waziyu town was 17.58 million yuan. Among them, the local fiscal revenue was 9.8 million yuan. The per capita net income of farmers is 7200 yuan. In 2018, there was one industrial enterprise in waziyu Town, including one above scale and 38 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.

History of construction

In May 1949, waziyu was transferred from beifuyi county to Yixian County; in September of the same year, Yixian County was re divided into 15 districts and waziyu into 10 districts; in October of the same year, 15 districts were divided into 11 districts.

In December 1955, the county was divided into five districts, 43 townships and one town. Waziyu township was divided into Qinghemen district.

In March 1958, 43 townships and 1 town were merged into 26 townships and 2 towns; in June of the same year, 26 townships and 2 towns were merged into 15 townships and 2 towns. Waziyu is still a township.

In September 1958, 15 townships and 2 towns were converted into 9 communes. Waziyu township was changed into Dongfeng commune.

In June 1961, the original 8 communes were transferred to 18, and waziyu was still a commune.

In 1983, the communes were transformed into townships.

In 1985, waziyu township was renamed waziyu Manchu Township.

On September 22, 1997, waziyu Manchu Township was changed into waziyu town.

On January 31, 2002, lengjiagou Township and waziyu town were merged into waziyu town.

In January 2002, lengjiagou township was incorporated.

At the end of 2011, waziyu town had jurisdiction over 19 administrative villages: waziyu, shangshangantun, ganquangou, sanchengzi, shizhugou, Majiagou, yinggeshan, Sitai, yuqiangou, Wutai, Futai, pingdingfang, datechang, Longwan, xiabaozi, Changqing, Wujianfang, lengjiagou, NIANPANGOU, with 82 villager groups.

As of June 2020, waziyu town has 19 administrative villages: waziyu village, shangshangtun village, sanchengzi village, Majiagou village, yuqiangou village, Wutai village, Futai village, pingdingfang village, datichang village, lengjiagou village, NIANPANGOU village, Wujianfang village, Changqing village, xiabaozi village, Longwan village, Sitai village, yinggeshan village, ganquangou village and shizhugou village. The town people's government is stationed in waziyu Yucun.

History and culture

Dashihu scenic area of Lushan National Forest Park is located in the west side of Yiwulu, in waziyu town of Yixian County, 50 kilometers away from Yixian County. Dashihu scenic spot belongs to Lushan National Nature Reserve and is one of the four scenic spots of Lushan National Forest Park.
