Hujiayuan street is located in the middle of Binhai New Area, the west of Tanggu street and the North Bank of Haihe River. In 1950, the five administrative villages of BeiYao, zhongxinqiao, Yihezhuang, Hetou and 50jianfang under the jurisdiction of the Ninth District of Ninghe county were assigned to Tangda District of Tianjin. In 1953, zhongxinqiao Township and Hetou Township were established. In 1958, Zhongxinzhuang township of Ninghe county was transferred to Tianjin. In 1960, it belonged to the communes of zhongxinqiao and Hetou. In 1966, it was established in Zhuangzi commune, and Zhongxinzhuang was merged into zhongxinqiao commune. In 1983, three communes were abolished and four townships, zhongxinqiao, Zhongxinzhuang, Hetou and yuzhuangzi, were established. It governs six administrative villages, namely yigeda, zhengzhuangzi, yuzhuangzi, zhouzhuangzi, tianzhuangzi and Danian. In 1998, zhongxinqiao Township, Zhongxinzhuang Township, Hetou Township and yuzhuangzi Township were abolished, and zhongxinqiao town and Hetou town were established. In January 2002, zhongxinqiao town and Hetou town were abolished and Hujiayuan street was merged. The eastern part of the district is part of Tanggu city.
